I am constantly buying/selling/trading guns, but every now and again I do have regrets on some I have gotten rid of. Here are just a few...
1. Blued 6.5" S&W K-frame 19. This was a great shooting .357, and was extremely accurate with .38 target loads. It had the target trigger/hammer, and was as smooth as glass. Why I got rid of it, I will never know (but I'm sure the $200 profit had something to do with it) 2. Browning A-Bolt Hunter .243. Bought this for a GF to hunt with, but we broke up and I sold the gun (to my next GF's dad). 3. 4 5/8" Super BlackHawk .44, possibly the perfect woods carry gun. Handful with 300gr loads, but still fun to shoot. 4. Norinco MAK90 AK. One of the cleanest AK's I have ever seen, and I had perfectly matched dark blonde wood. I am still kicking myself in the arse over that one! |

Colt AR15 that I bought new in the early 70s. |

I'm not a the collector type, more of a trader. So when I need a new gun, I usually sell one I don't use very often.
That being said, the only one I REALLY miss was my P7M10. But to be fair, I got almost double what I paid for it. |
My M60 - I just had no choice.
I used to call her "Trixie the 60." |
Sad, very sad. |

I wish I had them all back, the one I wish I still had the most was a Belgium Made FN-FAL , the action on that rifle was smooth as silk, Sold it for $900.00 and thought I made out like a bandit
WTF !! How in Hell did the British Govt get ahold of it
If some JBT came to take that away from me it would be splattered in blood stains |
I've never sold a gun.
I traded one, though. I'm actually glad it's gone. |
I don't know. I have been very lucky and haven't had to or the want to sell or trade any of my guns.
I was thinning the herd so to speak, and I got 3 times what I paid for most of them. |
AC556 (yes I know, but it was really fun)
PT Legend GALATZ w/case |
Colt Officer's Model, walnut grips with gold Colt logo centered on them. Probably the best looking pistol I have ever owned. |
My last AR10. I will now try to sell my Belgium FN-FAL to get another.

Olympic Arms pre-ban "Shorty" AR Chinese SKS that was a military rifle, not a commercial one. SIG P226 9mm |

That sucks, the same thing happened to my friends browning hi power and 1911fuckers |
SPAS 12 and a Walther waffenampt marked model PP in 380.
I miss those two. |
I trade all the time but mostly in a circle of friends...I can get back a gun I traded 90% of the time...the deal just has to be right.
Happens all the time around here. Boating accidents mostly. |
None. One of my sea daddys taught me never to sell a gun or a dog.
I traded a few guns off for others, but the one I really miss is my M1 Garand.
That being said I traded it for a down payment on a FMPG3S (Portugese HK91). I had problems with it so this year I traded the FMPG3S for a real deal HK91A3. That being said I love my HK91 but terriblt miss my Garand Especially when I watch a WW2 movie or play MOHF on PS2. |
An AKM-47, serial #186 and a Springfield 1911A1 mil-spec, serial # 167. They paid for my divorce.
All of them(long sigh)I only get rid of the ones I can stand to be without and then ONLY when I need the moneyBut probably my first mini-14.A SS folder that was mint and shot great!
All others come in a distant second. I started this year with a total of 35 guns and now Im down to about 15Damn economy!! |
S&W Mod 69 4" Stainless.
M1 Carbine Rockola, a bit worn but a whole lot of fun. The Smith I sold to a friend who needed it, and was willing to pay me what I paid, the M1 Carbine I gave away in early 95 (I was clueless about the AWB and had no idea it was worth more than I had paid for it two years before, $175). |
I don't so much regret selling/trading any particular gun, but more the fact that I had to part with one to get another. I just don't like the idea of my "collection" not growing.
So it's more the idea of the gun that I no longer have than the gun itself. I've parted with a SAR-8 and I'm considering ditching the first gun I ever bought; Ruger P89 (9mm). I'm looking to more or less break even to get something different, probably a revolver. |
The four *sniff* that Im getting ready to sell to finance a 16
I'll trade you a Highpoint carbine to get back the SIG P226 I sold you earlier this year... |

Benelli M1 Super 90 with pistol grip stock and slug barrel. Sold it about 12 years ago to buy a Colt Delta H-BAR back when that was THE AR to have. Ended up getting rid of the Colt, too goddamn muzzle heavy. Still don't have a shotgun, want to get something as nice as the one I stupidly let go. I should just bite the bullet and get an 870 Express.
