I think it's from the Order Hemiptera but I don't know which sub-order. Hemiptera have a pair of simple eyes in front and above the compound eyes, the area below the mouthparts is hardened, and an "X" on the back formed by the overlapped wings. TT

This is one of the most inane threads I've ever seen here. Still, that is one funky looking bug.
Link Posted: 6/13/2003 8:30:45 PM EST
I hate it when you fools post these bug threads. As soon as I see them I start itching and seeing things running across the floor out the corner of my eye.
Link Posted: 6/13/2003 8:39:02 PM EST
Are you kidding me! This many posts and not one idea what the hell this thing is? The suspense is killing me.
Link Posted: 6/13/2003 8:45:25 PM EST
It is a leaf eater. Don't worry about it except for the fact that, like a moth, it will also eat cloth (hence the drapes) The antennae are for scent location for breeding. This particular one (colors are off from what we have here and the antennae are a little larger) is a bit different from the local version, but still basically the same thing.
