I am 5'11" and weigh 208. I work 5-6 hours a night on a freight dock. I want to get under 200lbs, but I want it to be the right 200lbs. I'm not too choosy about the end weight, just the end result of being healthy and in shape enough to prevent injuries at work. I work out, but not enough I'll be the first to admit.

Although I'm not aware of a study that links eating less to a quality life, I do get your point.
A typical American is probably going to die of heart disease. Try to avoid this. A typical nature/nurture example, body size. One may be cursed with a family history of obesity, or heart disease, (or a more dramatic genetic illness), but one must do all one can to increase the quality of life. Diet plays a role. Avoid McDonalds. |

6'3" 330lbs, but dropping steadily since I quit eating all the bullshit I used to. It's time to buy new pants becaus the old ones keep falling down. I never thought I'd see that day.

6'2" 272 lbs. 48" chest 39" waist, and working on losing the fat, most of it... yup, you guessed it... around the middle. I'm down from 305 lbs. and I NEVER want to be that heavy again. Short term goal weight is below 250 lbs. by Thanksgiving. I'd lose weight faster if I quit lifting weights, but my pants are getting looser and that's a good thing. I have some size 34 Levis packed away somewhere that I haven't worn in about 8 years. [;D]

im the resident fat boy. Am now 227 5'11" 39" waist 50" chest and a wide ass. I was about 209 same size chest and a 35" waist in october. Was in pretty dmn good shape. I went on 5 mile runs several times a week, and then i got lazy and it cost me. My peak shape was 4 years ago when i was 192 5"11 47" chest, 33" waist and big back and arms (22 pullups). Working on getting back down, have lost 8 pounds in the last 2 weeks from jogging, kayaking and atkins. Have even increased water consumption to about 2-2.5 gallons a day from 1-1.5 gal a day to aid in metabolism. I should hit my target weight of 205 by mid september if not sooner.

Before i was at 192 4 years ago i had been over 250 pounds, from lack of activity and working for a greek lady at foodservice at MCI. I probably put on 20-30 pounds therre. Then i realized it was too much when i couldnt run a mile under 8:30. THats when i regulated everythng and limited my calorie intake from 1000-1400 a day, with 90% of it being protein. I dropped from roughly 255 to 192 in 4 months. They were a rough 4 months but it was worth it in the end. I had let myself go again in th elast few months and am correcting the problem so it doesnt happen again. |

I am 180 cm and 110kg.
No, not much fat. Competition style bench without the shirt 200kg. Deadlift about 300kg, squat 275kg. I`ve been boxing for over 10 years but at this weight it is quite difficult because of big muscles. I used to weight 90kg at the time when boxing was more serious. Ps. Recoil is no broblem. |

6' and 215, need to drop about 15 lbs.... and that used to be easy !! (38 now)
You can live longer by eating less. A recent study linked being overweight with cancer, as are many other health problems. National Geographic had an article on this a couple of years ago. One of the researchers said you could live a longer life if you cut your calories way back. The researcher, knowing this, tried to do it and said he couldn't, the hunger drove him crazy. (They were doing it with animals and they did live longer...) |

I'm 6" 200 lbs.
I wrestled for 12 years of my life during school and pulled weight every year. I don't expect to ever be fat. Back then I could loss 5 pounds per day to make weigh in for matches and tournaments. I did this as a little kid right through my senior year. I don't have much sympathy for fat people. It just takes discipline to stay in shape. You know it, I know it, so work out and eat right. |

Quoted: a3kid, I am telling the truth. I just got weighed two weeks ago, and came in right at 130. View Quote I believe you. They only way I gain weight is by working out. I think 6 years of track & cross country (at 10-12 miles a day) in high school stunted my growth! I can eat anything, any time and not gain a single pound. I've weighed 138lbs since I graduated in '83. The only time I ever went above that was when I worked out at Nautilus for a year & a half. Made it all the way up to 158. As soon as I quite - right back down to 138lbs again. |

Currently at 5-10, 180. 46 chest, 32 waist. It took me 3-4 years of hard lifting to gain 10 lbs. of lean mass!

I'm 6'6" 205 right now and about 10% body fat. I've found that the easiest way for me to lose weight when I was bicycle racing and trying to maintain 5% body fat was to restrict my calories late in the evening. I would eat a large 1200 calorie breakfast a moderate 800 or so calorie lunch then just a energy bar after work before training on the bike for a couple of hours. On the bike I would take in about 400 more calories of liquid carbs.

Two weeks ago I was 6'6" 252.
This morning I was 6'6" 239. I'd like to get closer to 200-210. I have a pretty large frame, and once I begin to get closer to my target weight, I'm going to start lifting weights to make my upper body begin to match it (my legs are like tree trunks as-is). Working behind a computer desk doesn't help things. the_reject |

Wow, I guess I am the fat ass on the board, 6'2" and 295. I had my BMI done, it was 31%, which means that if I had 0% bodyfat I would weigh 204. So if I had 10% (I think 10% is good, right?) BMI i should weigh 224. I guess that means I need to lose 70 pounds[shock]
I had been working out and eating right for 4 months and lost 4 pounds [pissed]. So I am very discouraged. Oh well, the years that are being taken off my life are just the bad years anyway, right??? |

You want details? A bit over five pounds with a 14.5" barrel.
Personally I would like to lose about 15 pounds but I still meet the military standards for the twice a year weigh-in. Destroyed my right leg in a service related injury two and a half years ago and have put on 12 pounds since. |
