Well?
It's on FX and 8pm EST(I think?). Its about the North Hollywood Bank Shootout from 1994. Sort of a documentary I guess. Anyone? |
I want to watch it, but unfortunatly, I will not be home to do so. [:(]
They are going to leave out the part where one of the bandits shot himself in the head. They showed it live the first time.
I am kinda waiting to see if they will throw anything in there about the "evil" AK47's they used.

There will inevatibly be dozens of opportunites to catch a repeat.
I'll let other people be the guinie pigs and read the reviews here before I subject my blood pressure to it. |

The report I read at the time said that the swat sniper put a round through the neck at the split second after the the BG pulled the trigger under his chin, they said they proved it because he would not have ben able to pull the trigger on himself had the swat's round hit him before.

The rifles they used were military assault weapons. They were fully automatic AK-47s right? I'd call those assault weapons that militaries have used. A buddy of mine from the LASD said those cats had already been busted on illegal weapons charges and they used a g-3...but im sure it could have been a cetme. I hope they dont show these guys buying FA G-3's from walmart or someshit.
While going thru the acadamy he got to see the (whole) OJ Simpson, Rodney King, 44min deal. BTW Rodney King is a Punk! |
I've said it before, and I'll say it again, I suspect anti gun propaganda. The shooting occurred 6 years old and has largely been forgotten, yet they bring is up again so soon to the D-Day for the AW ban???
I might watch it, but only so I can bitch about it the next day, or so I can count the number of times the phrase "these types of weapons should not be in civilian hands" (or similar statements) are uttered thoughout this movie... Hey, let's make an AR15.com drinking game out of it!!! Take a shot everytime someone says 'assault weapon/rifle' I bet I'll be passed out long before the badguys get taken out... |
As stated above.....anti-propaganda.....i'll watch it anyway.
I totally agree with HKocker. This is pure Kali, anti-gun Politics.
As a Kali LEO I have seen the LEO training tape on the shoot out and taken a class on critical incident management from the guy that ran the crime scene(s) investigations. The bad guys had two FA AK's, a converted HK91 and an M16A1 or SP-1 (can not remember) with a C-Mag a long with other assorted handguns and such. One of the things that never hit the media is the fact that when the LAPD officers got back to the scene with the AR's they barrowed from B&B guns, they were ordered to not use the rifles because they were not qualified on that weapon. Got to love the brass. |
Ok HKocher, It will be a drinking game!!!
But can I use milk? [:D] |
They were carrying AKs. They had 2 ARs and 1 HK91 in the trunk.
the whole thing makes me sick!!!
i don't understand why people would cower in their houses while officers get shot. all it would have taken was one guy with a deer rifle to end the situation. |
That's because it was in California...
stuff like that never works out for badguys in Arizona and Texas... |
I am going to watch the movie to reaffirm my belief that assault weapons in civilian hands have no place in a civilized society.
Total propaganda.[chair]
Timed for the AWB.[noclue] Bad guys armed with AK47 asault rifles.[heavy] The police armed only with courage.[argue] Did this event change the weapons policy of LAPD? Need i write more.[soapbox] |
I'm planning on watching it, with a keen eye for antigun BS/propaganda.
Anyone think they'll note that despite the BG's "scary" illegal assault rifles and the relatively underarmed cops, the BGs are the only ones that died? |
i dont have enough beer in the house to make it a drinking game.
FX can't be all bad, they show NASCAR!!!!!!!!!!! once more............why did you people want this imbroglio guy freed?????????????????? |
Just started now. Whoa! Some bullshit just went flying right by my head!
correct me if i'm wrong. but in the first 2 minutes didn't they say "semi-automatic machine gun". i wasn't really paying attention yet. but thought that is what they said.
I'm waiting to see one of those Iraqi pimp guns with all the chrome, show up! Somebody keep a count on the number of rounds from the AK's....this should be interesting!
Here we go.... |
Just "machine gun" I think. 30 mins in it's just been boring LEO worship. However, the robbery is just starting. Here goes...
EDIT: As soon as they step in the bank they fire a 30 rounder and a 75 round drum into the ceiling. So we're at 100 rounds so far, before the cops have even shown up. |
Nevermind..I just counted about 200 rounds from the drum and 100 rounds from the mag. [rolleyes]
Oh boy... |
hell, already we know that the AK-47 fires a high velocity projectile capable of penetrating body armor.........................
EVIL, EVIL, EVIL I SAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |
"Load up the .223s, leave the RP5's, we don't need em..."
Hahaa... man I wish I had an RP5 submachinegun. |
ok, now a full auto AK can blow open a safe if you shoot it enough...............[rolleyes]
Thats it! I want one of those unlimited round magazines!!!! I demand to know the manufactor of those magazines!! Are they Egyptian or Romanian??? Good Lord...100+ rounds from a AK 30 rounder....amazing I tell ya. [rolleyes]
455...are you sure? [LOL]
Feinstein must have been consulted on the scripts....[stick] |
Apparently even the unlimited capacity drum has failed to open the ATM safe. Score 1 point for realism.
One hour into the movie, they are about to leave the bank. |
The AKs are dropping 5.56 brass.
On the other hand, this movie is making me glad I have a drum mag. Very evil looking. |
ya, the safe didnt open afterall, but every shot they put into those cop cars is about twice as big as a .50bmg hole
why have I seen them change about 5 drums out, if they're unlimited capacity?
How unrealistic! They should never run out. Maybe I'm watching the HBO version... hmm. |
"I was in the wrong place with the wrong gun"
-that older cop- Moral: never let this happen to you! |
In all honesty it's not as bad as I thought it would be.
Did they really let loose 500+ rounds inside the bank?? |
Wouldn't the bank manager be to deaf to comply, after all that gunfire in the bank?
