I have got my friends CBR600 up to 155mph. On my brothers bike, 135mph (ninja zx6).
Just wondering what everyone else has done either in a car or on a bike.

I drove my Bianchi down a hill at 50 mph once - I thought that was pretty fast.

Me too. An '88LX on Texas SR90 for about five miles. And there was more left in her. It was enough for me.

150 on a ZX9 going down the road to Shelby Farms in Memphis, TN

Did you ever take it over any sweet jumps?
Link Posted: 9/7/2005 7:13:21 PM EDT
105, might have hit 110
in a mid 90s buick roadmaster station wagon down a normal rural 2 lane road
spedometer went to 120, wanted to see if it would do it
I think it would. gas pedal wasn't to the floor yet, but I was getting scared plus I was coming up on a curve and the end of the road where it intersected the 30mph city Main Street

Did mine in Sumter County FL. 120 on a 2 lane road was plenty for me too, had alot of peddle left too.

ETA: actually I did it twice. Second time was across the Gandy Bridge in Tampa.

I've driven a P3C Orion sub hunter at 325 knots

I also drove a 16 penny nail witha 28oz Estwing framing hammer in 1 swing... speed of the nail was estimated at 627 mph.

ETA, when I was youg and stupid and stationed at NAS Jax, I took a 1976 Kawasaki KZ900 over the St. Johns River bridge from Orange Park to the east side. I quit looking at the speedo when it was at 170. Fuck was I stupid then!

Some girl a knew had a Mercedes sl55 AMG. Her dad bought it brand new for her birthday. 130k. I got that thing up to 140 with the top down, was awesome but scary as hell

132 on my Suzuki Katana a few mornings ago, its not so much the speed that scared me but how quickly it got there.

With my heavy lard-ass on that frame, even a small "jump" would undoubtedly pretzel the wheels, or crack the frame or something unpleasant! I get very nervous when I'm going fast on a bike, knowing that a squirrel or pothole could totally make me wipe out - and I don't think spandex is that good against road rash!

More on-topic, I did drive a Ferarri 308GTSi once. Nice car.

155 on my GSXR b4 I pussed out.

165 indicated on an R1. Yes, on the freeway. Yes, in traffic. Yes, it was scary. Yes, I pussed out and didn't try for the redline.

Speed is just speed. I don't really enjoy it. The Cobra did around 150-160 knots in level cruise. We'd do that low enough to have to climb over fences.

I had a 1999 Pontiac TransAM with a 6 speed manual
In pewter, (what a beautiful color)
T-tops, leather, 600 watt sound system
5.7 liter LS1 320 hp

I got her up to 150mph, in 5th gear at 5400rpm (she tacs out at 6200rpm)
I ran out of road, and had to slow her down.

Driving her was better than sex.

She was my first true love.

Her name was Julia, and I miss her soo much.

It seems to be acceptable here in AZ for the squids to ride in a ball cap, shorts, flip-flops and a tank top.

I know from personal experience that denim lasts about 3 feet on asphalt at 50mph. Skin doesn't last nearly that long....

The fastest was 186 in a slightly modded '95 Mazda RX-7 R2.

I road my CBR600 up to 164, ONCE.

I've had a Porsche 911 turbo to 152.

I've had my Impala SS to 138. It will go faster but it takes a lot of space to slow down a 4200 pound car.

127mph rev limt in a chevy 96? stepside...on a 75 limit freeway it didn't seem very fast at all.

135mph

I-10 eastbound a little east of El Paso in my 03 Hyundai Tiburon. That was against the wind, and without any mods. It should top out at about 153. Nice thing was, at 135 against the wind, it was solid as a rock.

I've done 105 in my 1970 Porsche 911, and it's not in the greatest condition. When I get her fixed up, I'll probably be able to get her to 120 or 130.

145 (or there about) on a YZF-1000.

140+ in 1983 on a 1978 Suzuki GS750 up Interstate 90. My friend & I just rolled the throttles open on our 750s to see who would wuss out first. Niether of us did till we got to the exit we were heading too.

Of course he died a couple years later in a motorcycle crash. Stay Safe!

I wish I could get a chance to fly the F-4. That was one sexy bird. Some of the instructors here tell some great stories of it.

250 km/h in a 6spd Mercedes turbo diesel C230. I was heading down to Munich from Koblenz at dusk with little traffic and going down a very large hill. I also was able to get a td Audi A3 up to 230 but it didn't want to go any faster. The really amazing thing was how stable those cars felt at such high speeds.

240 kph in a Beemer in Austria. Too dumb and lazy to do the conversion.

Rented a Porsche 911 Carrera S4 while in Hawaii. I hit about 140 - 145 on the H1.

The telephone poles turn into picket fences going that fast.
