Made it, just west of Glendo Wyoming. Set up camp just north of Laramie Peak. Ready for the eclipse on Monday!
I'm going to be taking lots of photos in the next couple of days. Couple of phone photos of the camp. ![]() ![]() ![]() |

That's the camper you rebuilt correct?
Nice spot! I'm jelly.... |
|
|
That's awesome. Is that a Four Wheel Camper? If not, what brand is it? How doe you like it? I have been going back and forth between an off-road teardrop trailer or an FWC pop-up in the back of a pick up, as you have. How does the full size truck do for mild/moderate off-roading?

|
What's the weather forecast? Looks perfect at the moment those pics were taken.

Dang, forgot how pretty Wyoming is in summer.
Used to travel a bit around Glendo. Where are you fishing? |
|
Nice setup! You posting your pics to this thread? I don't want to miss them.
|
|
Thanks everyone.
Yes it's a Four Wheel camper that I fully gutted and rebuilt. There is a full rebuild thread here, but photo bucket took all the photos out. I'll definitely be posting photos to this thread, probably not until Tuesday though. I have 4g believe it or not, but I don't have my editing computer with me. |

@Sixgunner45
You sir, are doing it right. Enjoy the weekend and the start of the week payoff. |
|
Best of both worlds! 4g and what appears to be wilderness? Sweet!
|
|
Very nice, great location.
A time lapse series of the landscape during the eclipse would be awesome. |
|
Im not to far from there, well at least in Wyoming terms of far

I made it to base camp down by the Platte river and got the space set out for the ArF hoard to roll in tomorrow. Monday morning at o dark thirty we load up amd invade the official ArfCom brewery*.
* yes theres an actual ArfCom member owned brewery. I made it the official because no one else stepped in and called it. So there! |

The Milky Way was incredible last night! I've been to some of the darkest skies in the U.S., but lasts nights Milky Way was the brightest I've ever seen.
Beat my time at Chaco hands-down. I took lots of photos, but I'll have to post them once I get back to my editing computer (I shoot in RAW). In the meantime, here's one I shot from Chaco, these new ones should be even better! ![]() |

The eclipse was awesome! Here's a quick edit from one of my shots.
More to come later! ![]() |

I miss seeing the stars like that. One class trip in Colombia we went out to an island about 50 miles from Cartagena The stars were so bright and the night so clear we saw a satellite fly over.

Awesome pics and seriously jealous of the equipment. I was reduced to covering my iphone camera with the eclipse glasses to even get a remote shot of it

Thanks everyone! This was probably the most awe inspiring event I've ever experienced. I'm all ready making plans for the next one in seven years

Me too. Partially overcast around start time. By the time it even got noticeably darker (85% max coverage here) there was complete overcast.

Thanks guys. I'm heading home in a couple hours. After I get on my editing computer, I'll post some more photos of the eclipse as well as some Milky Way photos I took on this trip.

Nice, I went to Nebraska. Spent the night in Ogalala and then drove north to Arthur to view it.
