This is directed to anyone worried about SPAM:
Stop THINKING about spam. No reason to ever think about or consider the crap they send you. DELETE IT. Never reply, never click a link, and never "forward it on to your friends."
Spammers use a number of methods to get personal information on you, and sometimes they just get lucky that their random made-up stuff actually applies to you. When they send the same email to 80 million people, it's bound to match up with someone.
The majority of the "opt-out" links only verify that they have a live email account that someone is reading, which makes that account more valuable to spammers, and assures more spam.
If you have your email posted on any web page, newsgroup posting, or anywhere it can be found by a web scanner, or if you've signed up for any promotional deal with your email address, you are going to get spam. Heck, many times your own ISP will sell your address. It's just a fact of life, and everyone has to deal with it. Just delete and move on.
