Even then this change was codified into law and the IRS' ability to cope with the change seems to be the only thing holding them back. Good intentions and all. They cant do anything if the data is gone. If they ask us to retain data, then we change the way we handle things to avoid it. Our priority is to NOT be a source of personal data for anyone. |

Well. it should surprise no one that EE use is way down, given the number of recent threads concerning how unhappy the users are with the recent changes. The only thing that surprises me is that apparently no one in charge is reconsidering those changes. In fact, the last thread about EE problems and dissatisfaction got locked after a page or so. So, I guess IBTL. |

Love how the low feedback count members dismiss the high feedback members’ complaints as whining, boomerism, tech incompetence, or afraid of change. Personally, when a 600+ feedback member indicates the new system is unsatisfactory, I’d give it some credence. But hey, basic respect for others isn’t really a thing anymore. |

I'm in very rural northern NH with no post office in my town, but 8 within a 10 mile radius of my zip code. Fifteen minutes out of my day which I can also combine with grocery shopping as it is going into town. Just about every functional adult I know has checkbooks. I've written over 900K in personal checks since 2020. |

By this standard seatbelts wouldn’t be in cars because people complained about them being uncomfortable compared to not wearing them. Kids wear helmets skiing. Parents said they’re unnecessary because for years they skied without them. Now if some place requires it they should listen to people who ski for longer than the resort has been open. Not all change is bad. Sometimes the change of a speed limit is better even if you disagree with it. It doesn’t matter how many times you’ve driven down the road. This EE could be easier to manage on the backside of things and weed out fake accounts or something. I don’t know. I don’t care. The prices in the EE are sometimes ridiculous and the last thread on the topic was about people not putting up pictures, asking stupid prices, not replying to messages, and then wondering why their stuff won’t sell. ‘I’m asking 95% of new plus shipping with no photos. Why won’t my stuff sell? I only take a personal check.’ |

Usually a company will provide what the majority of their customers want. My poll, before it got locked, showed 80% in favor of the old EE. 12% preferred the new EE . With the balance in favor of Tiffany Gomas or beanie babies. I wouldn’t want the pressure of designing, and rolling this out and then find that most of the guys don’t care for it. |

You used a laughable comparison, and I am unclear on what personal safety has to do with the equipment exchange format change. My point is it a lot of people saying that we need to get over it and “MUH WAH” and “I like the new format” have low feedback scores. That makes me question the value of their feedback as they are obviously not using the EE to buy and sell at the same level that many of the unsatisfied members are. If these changes were truly intended to benefit the membership, I would think that the members who use the EE most would be the ones who specific feedback would most valued. Let me put it this way… I don’t play golf. I think the sport is stupid. I think the idea that a new golf sub forum has been created on this site is pointless and a waste of site resources. After all, there are probably tons of forums and discussion sites for golf-related purposes that will be far more comprehensive for information on the sport (I’m willing to bet that none of those forums have an AR15 section, by the way). I’ll never post in the golf forum. Should I be given a vote or should the many members who do golf and will use that forum get what they want? GB has spoken and here we are with a a golf forum apparently, but a disliked equipment exchange forum that lots of members use. In the end, the main reason I’ve kept the membership here is to post pictures easily. I enjoy posting pics in some of the technical threads and always include images in my sale ads. If this new equipment exchange change means I don’t really benefit from hosting pics here because of the new easier image posting process, that eliminates a large reason why I might’ve wanted to be a member. I don’t come here for the floppy wife boobies. A direction I would’ve supported in the EE is that ads require pictures and that you had to have a base-level paid membership to post pictures. A constant complaint in the old EE was that too many sale ads didn’t have images or had some crappy link to Imgur. I also feel that the site deserves to make a little money for the service that they offered with the old EE. So a $10/year base fee to be able to use the equipment exchange that would enable image posting would’ve been more than fair and not any kind of barrier of entry, in my opinion. |

So I havent been in GD much lately but just spotted this today. Ive kept my browsing in the old EE mode since Im on mobile and I dont like the layout (same issue I hate about Sigtalk marketplace.) So do we have to use the buttons now? I thought it was just a change to the create listing tool? Ivs only bought an item or 2 since it changed (i think) and used standard process. The amount of business Ive done on the EE its a shame to see it get messed up. Sub forums that I check throughout the day are pretty slow right now |

I have a few items listed pretty cheap right now that aren't moving so they went to eBay. |

If I dropped the price over the course of time, sure. But if someone DM'd me and said I'll give you $87 for that $100 widget you have advertised, and I said sure, I wouldn't update the ad to reflect that price. I see that some of the intent here with the change is to put some controls in place to enforce that. But as things stand now, 87% of the things I've sold in the new EE have fallen outside the new controls that have been put in place. Which means, you'll need to account for the "closed" listings that are actually sales that have been concluded outside the new controls. |
