so, My son shipped an order from our warehouse in California to a customer in TX......   But it went to a bad pay account in Angola NY. We shipped it via ups with out adding insurrance (they never pay, the bastards!)

I sent the guy in New York a shipper tag...now I'm out $30.00 trying to recover my goods and the sob won't ship the box back!

Any suggestions?

Yes, I'll call ups in the morning on it

fixed the title

I would think that there would be some legal action that you could take.  Police maybe?

I don't know how the law works in NY but a buddy of mine here in VA just received a mystery wheel for his bicycle.  Turns out its some $1,000 racing wheel he had ordered, cancelled the order (with confirmation from the seller) and ended up receiving anyway.  Supposedly as the law here in VA works is that if it was sent by accident with documentation to support, the recipient is under no obligation to send back or pay for it and the seller is SOL.

Hope your situation works out to be different

So you made sure your buddy knew to do what is right and ship it back to them right?

I'd find it kind of hard to believe the police would really do anything.  I'd call the guy and at least threaten it anyway.  He'd have to be a real shithead to just keep the parts.

For a couple hundred bucks, you could probably hire a private detective in the area to stop by and get them.

For just a little more, you could get that angry looking guy on the street corner to stop by and get them _and_ fix the guy's attitude

Since he likes getting mail, maybe sign him up for any and every type of junk mail.  Especially stuff from San Francisco.... if you know what I mean.....

I would call or e-mail him and explain that you'll have UPS stop by Monday to pick it up.  If he doesn't provide the package you'll be calling the police.

You sent a box of bike parts to a guy who's one of your deadbeat accounts and you expected him to send it back?

You might just have to write this one off as a business loss.

Sorry.

Chris
