Off topic but did you guys notice the woman pictured in the ad on the left side of the screen!!??
My God!! |

Yep, when they first made news of going under, first thing I thought of was Bimbo Bakeries...they did the same to Mrs. Baird.

With a name like Bimbo it has to be good! Every time I buy it and the vendor's stocking the shelf, he gets angry at me and tells me it's pronounced "BEEMBO". If I have a legitimate excuse to say "hold on, i need to pick up a bimbo!", I'm going to use it damn it! |

The powdered donettes would make a good coke smuggling front.

The article says a "Mexican billionaire", so naturally the first person I thought of was the most interesting man in the world.
"I don't always buy bankrupt American bakeries, but when I do I buy Hostess" |

Get ready for Twinkitos!
From what I read, Bimbo's got unions, too... |

Pretty soon you'll be able to Google "twink creampie" and this thread will show up. Google it now and see what pops up. I suggest searching images. I bet it's some delicious baked goods. EDIT: For fuck's sake, don't Google that at work. |

Just baking the Twinkies Americans don't want to bake themselves
|
|
... actually, if they retain branding image and quality, this isn't a bad idea at all

If Mexicans had jobs in Mexico they wouldn't be looking for jobs here and the illegal immigration problem would fix itself.

Meh I say let the company die and be written into the history books.

I immediately thought of Groupo Bimbo before I clicked on this story. They've recently acquired the majority of Sara Lee so this makes sense and no they will not keep the unions around.

Someone will buy it, the brand names are worth something.
They almost certainly will produce in their own non-union facilities though. |

Bimbo has a chocolate confection called 'Memin', the character on the package is the most stereotypical representation of a Black person you'll ever see.

I wish Flowers Bakery in Thomasville GA would get it. we don't tolerate Unions much down here. But I'd rather it go Mexican than Union.

The unions will put the final nail in what's left of manufacturing in this country unless we remove the from the formula. Sadly that's not going to happen until we go over the cliff. |

Yep, when they first made news of going under, first thing I thought of was Bimbo Bakeries...they did the same to Mrs. Baird. And Entenmann's and several others. Bimbo seems like a good and smart company. Threy do use union labor but they are far from generous with their contracts from what I can tell. |

We don't have to and should not remove unions. They serve a purpose sometimes, but we DO need to stop letting them use police force to compell people to do business with them. That's the balancing force that would keep them from killing their customers (the businesses they sell labor to) and it's missing right now. The problem is they have two sets of customers, and are focusing on the wrong one. They're just a labor co-op. Sure they work for the members, but the real customers are the businesses that buy their labor, and when they forget that, customers need to be able to quit doing business with em. If they can't quit doing business with em, there's no reason for the union NOT to bleed em dry. |

When Hostess sells, Øbama will take credit for creating new jobs!

Makes sense. Mexico is second to the United States in the world obesity and diabeetus ranking.

Those 18K jobs are ALL on the AFO/CIO and while the 99% fucktards are bitching about the 1% they leave Trumpka and other fucksticks alone. |

This is assuming Kraft or RJNabisco does not buy up the name first.
Hostess will be back on the shelves in a matter of months, no question. Too much money was made on the products. |

A mexican company with no union? Thats insane, that goes against arfcoms belief that mexican = liberal.
