Somebody trell me why this thing is not a piece of shit.

I just got one and it is not spring loaded and there is no way I can find to easily pop it up, especially with gloves on.

I thought this was their top of the line BUIS.

WTH?

What am I missing?

Somewhere in a cave fanboys are stirring.....

Meh, my rear BUIS aren't spring loaded and I have no problem with them.

Granted they aren't magpul.

Swap out your mittens for real gloves.

My rear isn't either, but it over hangs the back of the site and is easy to pop up.

This thing has nothing to grab onto

Never finger fucked them. The normal MBUS works fine for me.

They're not as low pro, thus, easier to grab

do you flip it up with your thumb or have to grab it on both sides?
Link Posted: 1/19/2015 8:21:03 PM EST
I don't have issues with it. I like how I don't need a took to adjust the sight.

I have now found very small serrations on the side that are supposed to add friction to flip it up.

I have to say, with wet hands, especially with gloves on I don't see how this will work well at all.

I do not like them at all.

I'll happily trade you a set of troys for a set of mbus pros. Pm if interested.

KAC micros all the way.

Really though put the front site all the way to the front and flip it around backwards so a tiny bit is hanging off the edge of the rail. That makes it much easier to flip up.

Backup IRON sights should at least be made out of metal. (Fanboy shield activate!)
Link Posted: 1/19/2015 8:44:42 PM EST
Maybe flip it up before putting on your gloves? Or get different gloves. Or Jb weld some little tabs on there

Yeah but Dicks is running a screaming MLK sale on Troy Industries stuff.
Might be worth a gander.

I did that and the over hangs makes it easier.

Your fanboy shield isn't going to save you from that one.

I don't have the pro's but I like my magpul BUIS. They work well for me.
Link Posted: 1/19/2015 8:55:34 PM EST
Plastic ones work well enough. Don't see much point in the metal ones.

Don't know, I don't use them. I have KACs and they seem pretty sturdy.

i own a pair of MBUS pros and took them off. exactly for what you said. Theyre TOO low profile. Its annoying to get a hold of them. I took them off and put troys on.

That is what I use. They are the 300m version, with absolutely no frills and only windage adjustable, but they seem to be very sturdy and I like them a lot.

I'm a Magpul fan, but I'm sticking to KAC for my BUIS.

Too low profile. I think I have reached the last page of the internet.

I have them on one AR and manage to flip them up pretty easily when needed, which is almost never. My biggest complaint is that they are an absolute bitch to adjust.

I may just put the plastic one back on and put it up on the EE.
Link Posted: 1/19/2015 9:57:58 PM EST
Put a thin handle under it and pretend you're doing the HK slap and pop it up.
