I have some one on another forum I visit asking info about this gun:

The info he gives says it was his great grandfathers. It is chambered in .38 short, and he beleives it to be 115+ years old. That's about it. He doesn't say what markings are on it. Any ideas? Any info?

Thanks,
Kris

Theres no hammer spur, it would have to be a DA.

I don't think it's a S&W. Notice that it doesn't have the front site blade?

i noticed that, i assumed it had fallen out. (meaning it was pinned at one time).
a hand gun is pretty worthless without a front site

Im sticking with S&W .38 Safety Hammerless 3rd model now.
Link Posted: 8/13/2005 11:48:46 PM EDT
Hmm, I dont see a pinhole for the site, and the hammer looks different.

The .32 looks A LOT different than the .38.

Actually, now that I look at it, it does have the front sight. It just blends in really well with the backdrop.

ok now that we have "pinned" it down how the hell would you rate a gun that has the correct finish but non original grips?
Its supposed to have checkered hard rubber grips.

mabey 60%?
