I have some one on another forum I visit asking info about this gun:

The info he gives says it was his great grandfathers. It is chambered in .38 short, and he beleives it to be 115+ years old. That's about it. He doesn't say what markings are on it. Any ideas? Any info?

Thanks,
Kris

Theres no hammer spur, it would have to be a DA.

I don't think it's a S&W. Notice that it doesn't have the front site blade?

i noticed that, i assumed it had fallen out. (meaning it was  pinned at one  time).
a hand gun is pretty worthless without a front site

Actually, now that I look at it, it does have the front sight. It just blends in really well with the backdrop.
