Does it make me seem like an old grouch? Anyone have something similar?
I've been getting hit up to much for raffle tickets, candy fund raisers, school cups and t-shirts, ect ect.

What gets me is when people bring their kids fundraisers into work, girlscout cookies, boxes of candy bars and insist everybody buy one. Let the kids do the damn work. I don't buy from those people.

Most people don't seem to know what soliciting means, or thinks it doesn't apply to them. Annoying assholes, all of them.

I had a no solictors at my old office. Some guy came into the waiting room trying to sell stuff. I heard my secretary talking to him so I came out, pointed at the sign and said "I put up a sign, come on" "I'm not soliciting, I'm a salesman"
 I wouldn't put up that thing with the bible and the line through it on my wall, I suspect in Texas it is a really bad idea

I don't have that problem anymore. I kept a record of everone I bought from and when my Rotary Club has their raffle I go back to them and try to sell them a $100 ticket. When they don't buy I remove them from ever buying a ticket from them again. Worked like a charm so nobody tries to sell me anything like that anymore. . |
