Quoted: I'll go first. Det. Lt. Arthur Tragg was the ultimate cop. Sarcastic, contemptuous of lawyers, self-confident, slightly disheveled, and quick-witted. Of course, he was Hamilton Burger's right hand man on Perry Mason......the once from the 50s and 60s. Your turn.https://www.ar15.com/media/mediaFiles/333347/Tragg_jpeg-1959370.JPG View Quote I always wondered why Hamilton Burger (and Lt Tragg) weren't fired. Seems like they lost every case against Perry. Those guys knew how to party. Raymond Burr was a flaming homosexual, and the guy that played Hamilton Burger was arrested for participating in some wild nude parties. |

Of course, he was Hamilton Burger's right hand man on Perry Mason......the once from the 50s and 60s. Your turn. When you read this thread you will be reminded about how much better TV cops shows used to be even for all the cheeziness and sometimes poor acting. But there was neither wokeness nor pandering. It was good guys vs bad guys. And the good guys were always going to ultimately be smarter. https://www.ar15.com/media/mediaFiles/333347/Tragg_jpeg-1959370.JPG View Quote Love Perry Mason but Tragg was wrong every time. Greatest cop cant be wrong all the time. Nobody mention Chips? Ponch and John slaying ladies and rarely pulled their guns out to resolve any situation. |

Jim Lahey, Trailer Park Boys.
Best cop of all time. Even over TJ Hooker and Crockett. |

I would definitely handcuff her and give her a thorough pat down... |

Broderick Crawford - as Dan Matthews in Highway Patrol. Usually seen with a mike or a snubby in hand. "10-4" Not the greatest but shouldn't left out. If it came to a vote, probably Sgt. Phil Esterhauz.

Buck Savage was the best! Saw drunk, arrested same.
He actually was a damn good trooper. |

Quoted: Hank voight? Is he from the chicago one??? That dude is broke dick vic mackey...he can't even compare to vic. View Quote I think Mackey and Voight are the same guy just at a different point in a continuum of losing themselves in a job that slowly became their entire persona. We just happen to be introduced to Mackey at a point when he is way past the edge. When we meet him, he's already murdering a cop. Voight has crossed the line to murder as well, but everything he does, while often morally wrong and certainly illegal, is rooted in a desire to bring justice and order to a corrupt and lawless city because he actually loves the place and the decent people who live there. I don't think Mackey remembers why he does what he does, it's simply his reality and he goes through the motions. Unchecked, Voight would probably end up in the same place. I will say, I loved The Shield and watched it beginning to end 2 or 3 times. I "liked" Chicago PD, but checked out when the wokeness began creeping into the story lines. |
