Fucking third world... I see hazardous road conditions and people driving unsafely. Should I attempt to warn approaching drivers of the hazards ahead? Naw, I'll stand here and mutter inane things to myself.

If they are not able to see the tanker truck on fire and get clued in that they should stop, a dude waving his arms yelling stop probably isn't going to be that effective.

In '99 I had a tanker rollover, slide across the roadway, burst into flame, and then blow the eff up right in front of me. If I had not seen him and started slowing down when I did, the truck probably would have ended up rolling on top of my truck and pinning us ( myself and 9 yo daughter in the truck )to the bridge abutment.

9,400 Gallons of unleaded makes a BIG fire.

My daughter was wigged out seeing tankers in traffic for years after.

Ice is the devil.   Snow is easy but if the roads get icy, I am staying home or somewhere off the road.

Maryland drivers combined with the state's nonchalant attitude towards all things weather related.

The person in the video had called 911 prior to beginning filming. He also states in the video that he was going to stop filming and call again.

when I was in high school assholes always sit on the tracks, a tanker got stuck and could not move out the way and the train hit it. Burned the shit out of everything and several people died. Track crossing was closed a long ass time as the heat was so intense melted everything around it.

the pictures are bad quality but none of the archived links have any with them.

Not staged but used very heavily in training for good reason.

IIRC it is.

I had to deal with an anhydrous leak one morning when I worked for an ag company.

Ironically,  the PPE for an anhydrous leak is in on a box on the side of the tank.

Its worse when the ground is wet.

I was driving my Peterbuilt to the main shop past our elevator with a co-worker when I realized this tank valve was leaking at a fairly good rate into the wet dirt.  I looked at my co-worker who.. did I mention is a safety trainer.  And asked him if he is going to deal with it.  He said fuck no...

I went out and realized when you step on the anhydrous soaked soil it turns into gas.  Now knowing this I approached from up wind and in a few long strides I jumped onto the wheel of the tank with my tire stick from the truck and smacked the frozen valve a couple times and managed to close it.

Feeling good about myself I hopped down into the soaked dirt and about killed myself when it again turned into gas and I got a breath of it.

And I would have not done shit in that situation other than call it in.  You can run down an icy highway and try to flag down people further up the road.  Then they can slide into each other further down the road...  Oh and try not to get killed by the cars sliding at you.

The MDL hasn't been relevant since the Civil War.

Elevated section of interstate, maybe a 40-60 foot drop between the two sections of roadway.  Nobody is getting from A to B.  Also a really bad idea to get in the middle of all of that with no outs while all the vehicles were still colliding.

That is a staged training video.  There's a full edited version here at this Facebook link that says at the end that its staged.

Also as noted on Reddit, there is no ODMP for that day.

Did you really think this one through before you posted.
Maybe he runs up to the roadway waving about and gets creamed when a TT slams into the wall and rolls over on him.
