Speaking with my better half the other day, I can't figure out why women/people in general weigh themselves so much.  What's to be gained by weighing yourself every day?  Does it really fluctuate that much?  I only weigh myself when I am challenged by buddies, or at the Dr.s office, etc.  Can't remember the last time I ever weighed for just myself.  I'm no lightweight, am I secretly scared to?  Also, what's so damn personal about weighing yourself with others around?  Is it as bad as someone knowing your age?  (Women especially).

Life's too short.

Could be a lot depending upon what you've eaten.

I have known women and men who weigh themselves constantly--sometimes several times a day.  Usually these people are in the middle of some kind of diet.  I don't know that it fluctuates that much during the course of a day, but I know that it can change from day to day--mostly for women!?!

The personal part about weighing with others around, I suspect, comes from the fear of others making fun of you.  Most of that is from women, guys don't really care who knows.  Most women would rather you know their age than their weight.  Most women I know even weigh themselves naked so as to rid themselves of the 10-12 ounces of underwear they might have on.

I personally weigh myself every other day or so, sometimes way less.  And only because the scale happens to be in the bathroom.  I'm not a small person myself, so..............

What are YOU secretly scared of?????

Really depends on what the definition of "OFTEN" is, right?

I weight myself every one or so.

I do happen to know that my normal work clothes weight 5 pounds (7 pounds if I am wearing boots that day).  So subtracting 5 pounds from my scale weight avoids scaring everyone in the house by having me do it naked!

With my terrible eating habits (being in college and heavily overworked and all), I can easily lose 10 lb without noticing it. Which is a problem when I hover around 130 to start with. Only do so once a week or so, at most.

Maybe twice a year.  I don't keep a scale in my bathroom because I'm too young to worry about that stuff yet.

I weigh myself once or twice a week at the gym so I can accurately input the data to the treadmill when I use it.

Every morning, and then at night, noting the difference and keeping a keen eye on things.  FWIW, during the day depending on how much water you intake and how much you eat, the difference can be anywhere from 4 to 7 lbs.

I bought one of those Tanita body fat scales a few years back, used it for awhile checking some diet differences, like most hi-tech gizmos, it wound up in the closet collecting dust.

almost every commercial scale I tried is very "in-accurate" sometimes they are off by as much as 25 lbs! the only accurate scales are the ones in the doctor's office or veterinary office.

Dude--you need to talk to your better half.  Underwear refers to anything worn under clothing--not just panties on them wimminz.  Have you seen the size of some of the bras out there lately--with all the metal and shit in them???  Plus the ones weighing themselves usually aren't so little.

You still sound a little scared....go ahead....step on that scale...it won't hurt you...it's your friend.

Usually once or twice a week while at the gym.  Mostly to see if the working out is making much of a difference in my weight.  So far I've stayed pretty steady at 225.

Don't even own a scale.

Well, I keep one from the old days around for nostalgic reasons, but it only goes up to 50 grams.

Usually it's women worrying about the weight.

I personally know a woman who, almost every morning, will get naked, step on the digital scale, step off, get back on again, step off, and go for a third time.  Is this fucking nuts??  I guess she just wants to make sure it's right.  Or just can't fucking believe it!!  Or maybe, the best out of three??

I think the really fat, obese people don't weigh themselves much...just kinda given up.

The rest of us just want to keep a handle on it, IMO.
