What the hell was that trucker doing in the left lane?
Trucks ---------------> RIGHT LANE. |
|
Seems an awful lot like that trucker sped up, which is a dick move over all possible dick moves. WTF was he doing in the left lane anyway, if he wasn't actively passing the truck in the right lane? The VW driver cut it a bit close, but the truck driver was a dangerous asshat that could have killed someone.

When Assholes Collide.
Jetta driver was making a bad merge. Trucker should have sucked it up and backed off. Getting to your destination safely is more important than "winning" simian territorial poop-throwing contest. |
|
And that truck drive just cost himself a tun of cash. Fucking idiot driver.

If he was camping in the left lane for 5 min while he approached the slower truck then fuck him, but we can't tell that from the video. Driver of the VW got a good lesson there. |

Trucker totally at fault. He MUST yield if you are passing from behind.

VW was being an asshole trying to squeeze in front of the truck.

There's only one in the video. Either driver could have easily avoided the collision. Both FAILED to do so. When someone is being an asshole on the road, the only correct response is to react defensively. Truck driver was aggressive when he should have simply backed off and allowed Jetta driver to be an asshole. Quoted: VW was being an asshole trying to squeeze in front of the truck. Yes, she STARTED the incident. Truck driver failed to END it. |

Bottom line it was the VW's fault, she made an unsafe lane change. Was the trucker an ass, yup. However, she should have slowed down in her lane, let the asshole trucker pass, and then changed lanes.

there are dickheads behind the controls of any transportation device out there.

If I was in the Jetta, I wouldn't have made the lane change.
If I was in the truck, I would have backed off and let the Jetta in. And cussed her out. Being "right" isn't as important as not getting into an accident. |

The left lane truck was even going to same speed as everyone else in the left lane. |

I would not have made that lane change. If someone forced the issue I would yield. I don't know if the trucker was paying attention, the jetta driver was an Idiot.

View Quote Ok...on further review ,it now makes more sense. Everyone else was trying to get around the red semi. The Passat just did it stupidly. |

The trucker didn't speed up, the car in front of him slowed down. That made the VW slow down as well and the trucker had nowhere to go except to the left, which he did, until he ran out of room.

The trucker was on the phone!
That is why he didn't see her He was at fault for just being on the phone |

Truck driver seems to have been snoozing a bit.......gotta anticipate that every 4-wheeler is gonna behave as a douchebag. He missed that before they swapped paint. I mean, really, it was painfully obvious she was gonna try to put a square peg in a round hole.

Either one of them could have avoided that whole mess. They're both dickheads.

Being "right" isn't as important as not getting into an accident. Subnet gets it! I'd say anyone with an IQ above room temperature "gets it." Sadly, there seem to be a bunch of posters here who are below that bar. All the truck driver had top do was take his foot off the gas momentarily and everyone could have kept clipping along. Instead he chose to endanger the lives of everyone involved because the VW driver was in a bit of ahurry and made an inconsiderate lane change .... while signaling their intention to do so .... while having plenty of room to pull of the maneuver. |
|
I had a semi do that exact same thing to me a couple days ago. I had to dive off onto the left shoulder to avoid being swiped by his trailer.
I didn't push the issue, just honked and braked to avoid him. Cussed him pretty good. Life goes on. |
|
I was disappointed the VW didn't get run over by the rear tires on the truck on the right.
|
|
Not saying I would have done what he did but she deserved it. Everyone thinks they're a special little snowflake that can cut in front of others who have been waiting longer.
Any more details to the story? |
