DFW airport closed due to Ice on the runway. School districts closed, dart rail service stopped for now. Hell froze over in DFW today.

Soon that will happen here in El Paso today. Nobody knows have to drive in the rain and when it snows here (2 times a year) they go full retard.
We're expected to have about 2-3 I think..... Not much at all. Posted Via AR15.Com Mobile |

Beer trucks aren't even running in DFW today!
Pretty nasty looking up in Denton County. |
Yea but snow in El Paso has the common decency to melt by 10am.

I'm in Dallas right now for work. I not getting on the road here screw that.
Glad I don't work in a Dallas ER anymore. Ice days are never fun dealing the never ending string of MVC's

NAS Ft. Worth - Essential personnel only.
I am stuck in a motel room, out of smokes, out of ammo. It's like Bastogne, without the foxholes, and Nazis. I do have a continental breakfast though! |
Was going to take the trash out but the drive way looked like a skating rink.
And the corporate ijits in Georgia said that it wasn't bad enough to close the office. Sorry, I'm not even going to go out to play with my 4 wheel drive Jeep to have some moran spin out & hit me. |

add the east side of Plano to that list.

No work for a couple hours! Everyone is stuck in their driveways and can't get out
I went outside in shorts and a t-shirt for a brief moment of stupidity. I can safely report: it's pretty darn cold.

My wife had to go in to work. They told them if Arlington and Mansfield schools were closed, they weren't working today... guess they were kidding.
Pretty funny listening to her cuss while she scraped the windshield off. |
I woke up at 3:30 AM and looked outside and it was still raining in Denton. I got up about two hours later and it was about 2-3 inches of ice/snow.
I'm a couple hundred miles NE of the Big D , looks like we will get lucky and miss this one.
I'm set up for power outtage crap but it's still not fun when everything is shut down ! |

Waiting for all the yankees to start carping about how Texans can't drive in the snow. My uncle lived in Michigan for 40 years and says the Yankees don't do any better.

Y'all freak out about it more, but no... no worse driving. I think it has to do with the fact that the roads don't get cleared/salted, so conditions stay bad longer. People are bad drivers everywhere.

I would much rather get a foot of snow over a coating of ice. |

How long before Dallas turns into Egypt? Not long, the question is, how long till they start going Uruguayan Soccer Team on each other? |

I think what he meant though, is if he got to choose he would take the snow instead of the ice, not literally snow on top of ice. |

Somewhere, Jerry Jones has pissed himself that the one thing he couldn't control during Super Bowl week has turned ugly on him.
Driving in that shit is a bit worse down south, because:
1. A lot of drivers aren't used to it (not that I'm claiming Ohio is a bastion of wintertime skill) and... 2. Lack of salt trucks. This has more to do with it, than the drivers themselves. There are fun surprises, though. This morning, I saw a guy absolutely carving up a snow covered river road - in a Mini Cooper. It's all about the tires, baby. |
