I voted for "The Howling".

However, "Dog Soldiers is definitely a close second.

"American Werewolf..." comes in third because it was so stingy in showing you the wolf itself. (Though I did like that it walked on all fours.)

It's probably debatable whether or not Wolfen was technically about werewolves or indians who shaped shifted into wolves, but I liked that one.

I left it out for that reason.

American Werewolf in Paris was always one of my favorites. Definitely had a silly side to it, but there was some seriousness, and plenty of werewolf action.

Gotta say Dog Soldiers is my favorite, followed up by Silver Bullet and the new Wolfman.

American Werewolf in London and Paris were both decent.

Dog Soldiers followed closely by American Werewolf in London

AWiL was my favorite for years but Dog Soldiers bumped it

The Howling has the best werewolf IMO but the acting is just so overwhelmingly bad that it can't be number 1

I went just the opposite.   "The Howling would have won outright except for that Benji/Chewbacca thing at the very end.  Got to love those Nazis werewolves in AWIL though.

Silver Bullet was better than Teen Wolf and a couple of others on your list.

The Curse of the Werewolf and Werewolf of London should also be on a Top-Ten Werewolf movie list.

The wheelchair itself was much more awesome than anything Teen Wolf had to offer.

Two reasons why Silver Bullet was better than Teen Wolf.

Dog Soldiers = Underworld (close enough).  Either works.

I watched the new Wolfman w/ Benicio del Toro. I kinda liked it. Played off the original movie and didn't involve lasers or machine guns or other weird shit they always add to remakes of classic movies.

As debatable as Wolfen.  You are led to believe a terrible wolf-like monster of great staure and strength is killing people in the province.

And lots of naked Monica Bellucci.

And the host of Iron Chef is in it, too.
