Don't know what's going on yet, but supposedly there is a white van surrounded by police on Parham Rd. in Richmond. Heard it from a guy at work, so it is unconfirmed so far. Media is supposedly on scene, but no other info.

ATF, FBI, etc had the pay phone at that Exxon staked out, and jumped on whoever that was. They were positioned at Royal Olds.

Perhaps that was the phone...Or, this could simply be a suspect. But he was POUNCED on!

That's what I just heard too. Why were they staking out that Exxon though? Hmmm... I also heard they are towing the van away and took the guy into custody for questioning.

the phone number thing doesn't even make any sense. how could the shooter not know the location could be identified almost instantly.

unless he is some type of phone phreak as well, i doubt he'd call, or answer anything having to do with that number.

FYI Henrico police HQ is less than 1/4 mile away, so this wouldn't have had to have been a stakeout to yeild a crushing LEO presence after 10 minutes, but it wouldn't explain the Feds. Hell, the'd probably just run over to the Exxon.

No school is nearby. You may have seen an office complex or the old white Crestar bank operations center. Closest school is 1/2 mile away.

As an aside until the news conference begins:

Anyone got any good Internet newsfeed sites. I'm stuck in a office with basic TV (only thing I can get is Jerry Springer and spanish TV).

I usually get all my government new conferences from C-SPAN and since places like CNN and ABC started charging for streaming video it leaves us in offices a little in the dark about national breaking news.

Fox shows them wrenching an older van onto a flatbed. Has "roof racks" but no ladder racks. Parked right next to the phone though....

The van appears to be a white over grey Plymouth Voyager, with a Mexican flag sticker in the drivers side lower quadrant of the rear window...Not sure if its got some sort of paper dealer tag or if the Police have covered the tag to hide it from the cameras.

Locals report that almost all LEOs that are ID'able, are local. The Feds have had more than enough time to arrive from Ashland at this point.

Ergo, they probably know this isn't the guy.
