Federal Judge Blocks Texas Voter ID Law
(CBS11) – A federal judge has ruled Texas’ voter ID law unconstitutional. Attorney General Ken Paxton is promising to appeal the ruling. “Today’s ruling is outrageous. Senate Bill 5 was passed by the people’s representatives and includes all the changes to the Texas voter ID law requested by the 5th Circuit,” Paxton said in a statement. “The U.S. Department of Justice is satisfied the amended voter ID law has no discriminatory purpose or effect. Safeguarding the integrity of elections in Texas is essential to preserving our democracy. The 5th Circuit should reverse the entirety of the district court’s ruling.” http://dfw.cbslocal.com/2017/08/23/federal-judge-blocks-texas-voter-id-law/ |

Only a complete court en banc should be able to issue injunctions on duly enacted laws. If they're later overturned by SCOTUS on anything other than narrow technical grounds, they should all be derobed and debarred. This bullshit of finding a single judge, anywhere, and using them to veto the other two branches reminds me too much of the Tribunes under the later Roman Republic. Bought and paid for Tribunes serving their masters was a significant factor in the fall of the Roman Republic, and it's not helping now.

The judge, like most leftists, believes blacks and latinos are too poor or too stupid to obtain a Drivers license or Identification card.

You can't have a productive discourse with someone who will lie straight to your face. |

History indicates that Conservative Americans only have three speeds: silence, peaceful protest rallies, and Total Industrialized Warfare. They excel at the latter.

Strange.. you need an ID to excersize your 2A right (purchase)... yet do not to vote (which determines the fate of the nation)?
|
|

Had this "discussion" quite a bit with close family members.
"No voter ID because voting is a right!" "Then why do I have to have a photo ID and get a background check every time I buy a gun?" "That's different, you can kill people with a gun. We have to have a 'modern' interpretation of the constitution." It goes back and forth like that all time time. |

Sounds like it's time to get rid of a judge. Your move, Texas.
