FOX news just showed them, anyone else see them? 40,000+ homes are under 6-10 foot of water for miles one end. Unreal. Can someone find them on the net? These are helicopter pics that just came in.
Link Posted: 8/29/2005 4:17:06 PM EDT
Do they have aerial photos too?
Link Posted: 8/29/2005 4:18:08 PM EDT
Just changed it for you...I just saw them on FOX was too busy to think.
Link Posted: 8/29/2005 4:22:05 PM EDT
St. Bernard parrish looks a lot like that anyway. It is a marsh with built up areas for highways and structures. The rest is canals and marsh. Not taking anything away from the flooding from le grand ouragon mind you. Just splaining about southeast Louisiana topography. Go to the google satelite map and see for yourself.

Great photos...I am seeing fresh aerial video on O'Reilly...amazing. Makes no difference if people think this was not the "big" one or not..it was big enough to change NOLA residents lives forever.

WOW.

Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez offered to send food and fuel to the United States after the powerful Hurricane Katrina pummeled the US south.

The sad part about this is, their hell has just started. By the second week without power and water, life begins to suck big time. A year from now, when their homes still aren't fixed, shit gets old. Been there (still am) fuck the tee shirt.

WoW, Glad I wasn't at Keesler AFB there in Biloxi. I had a class there a few years ago and the dipshits in Command wanted me to stay on the base during a Hurricane. I had to get my Supervisor here at Robins AFB to get me released to drive back to GA. No way in hell I am staying on a Base thats only 300 meters from the Gulf and about 3 feet above Sea Level.

I don't feel he is sincere in his desire to help with suffering as much as trying to look good to the International community.

I will withhold further comment until we see if his words are matched with actions.

Hey, I said I feel bad.

But I personally would never live in a city that was 10 feet below sea level.
MUCH LESS a coastal city.

Yeah, been through this once in another thread. I dont argue with bullheaded people so I'll leave it lie.

Worst I've had is two days without power and that sucked, but it was localized to our neighborhood. We could still go to the store for food, had fresh running water, etc.

The problems for the folks down there just started and will be getting worse for a while.

You have no idea. We are still trying to get things back together after Francis and Jeanne almost a year ago. We have a roof as of May, but still need some interior and screen room work.

If anyone has time, try to help those people. Ice and water handouts were a life saver for many. We were lucky as we had done a lot of preparation before the storm. My wife will never make fun of my SHTF plans again.

I knew the wonderful ARfcom sympathizers would arrive.

I've lived here for 32 years and would'nt trade it for anywhere in the world. We just happen to be in the path where hurricanes can and will land. No sense in making light of peoples misery. Eventhough the people who did not evac NOLA should get exactly what they have coming. That is stupidity no matter how you cut it. But for those who have just lost their entire livelihoods it is a tragedy.

Quite a few reports of deaths in Biloxi. Some are pretty horific accounts.

The tip of the iceberg, folks. The drama is yet to unfold. Wouldn't wish it on anyone. If it had gone up the center of FL, it would have been devastation never seen in all of history.

Hope you guys didn't take what I posted the wrong way. It sucked for us for two days without power, so I can only imagine what it's like for those that have really had to deal with it for weeks or months. I wasn't trying to downplay what happened, and if it sounded that way, I apologize.

I can bet there will be Power linesmen on all Hwy's going into the region as far as the eye can see. I saw crews on I-75 from Ohio heading to Florida last year and the crews just kept a going to Florida. Makes on proud to be an American to see that, we take care of our own.

Your village called.

What do you suggest?

Depopulate every single area in the country ever hit by, or at risk from, a: tornado, blizzard, icestorm, earthquake, hurricane, flood, drought, el nino, forest fire, volcanic explosion or terrorist attack?

You sound like an idiot.
