Any day with the family is a blessing. Even one in a desolate, frozen wasteland.

I'm going to take my kids to the beach tomorrow, but, it's all good.
Link Posted: 1/17/2015 10:58:38 PM EST
Other than the wife and kid, there is absolutely nothing there I would consider fun.
Link Posted: 1/17/2015 10:59:35 PM EST
Op how deep is the snow
Link Posted: 1/17/2015 10:59:39 PM EST

Link Posted: 1/17/2015 10:59:54 PM EST

Link Posted: 1/17/2015 11:00:53 PM EST
As long as you're enjoying time with your family then it's a good day.

Nothing crazy about building memories with your family OP. Nice pics.
Link Posted: 1/17/2015 11:10:39 PM EST
That looks terrible for skating on.

Hopefully you didn't bring the skates.

I drive up into the mountains and let my dogs run free in the woods.

Sometimes simple is the best.

It was a nice warm day for a change, not too windy, and roads were mostly clear....

Heck yeah it looks like a good day with the Crew!!

Dunno about walking on the near shore Ice like that though...Lotsa skim ice covered voids from Ice heaves, and we lose a couple tourists a year that way.
Be careful with that.;)

Cool day with your family. Treasure it as priceless. Goes by fast.

Its probably a fun time - if you are marooned on a small frozen island with no other options.

Where is this in MI?
Link Posted: 1/17/2015 11:34:59 PM EST
We spent the day out in the country, riding 4-wheelers, exploring the woods, shooting eggs with a .22-----it was around 60 degrees and I was freezing in a sweatshirt and jeans.

I'd love to see some place like that in person for about 5 minutes but I'm not cut out for extreme weather conditions.

Looks fun to me OP. If you and the family are grinning, you're burning life time memories, my friend.

That looks like a blast. I miss MI a lot, I spent the last 6 years there and can't wait to go back.

I take the kiddo skiing every weekend. I think i will take her camping one of these weekends as well. In the Rockies, in the middle of winter. Oh the huge manatee.

Family time is all there is or will ever be. It appears to be cold there but all I see is smiles. Life will never get better than that.

I do a whole lot of weird shit in the name of hanging out with my family and building memories but ...

You see all that white shit around them? That's fucking water .... water that is so fucking cold it has changed forms to a solid. No human should have to endure those kinds of temperatures in the name of "fun."

That's fucking torture.

Frozen beaches are always interesting. I saw Cape Cod Bay freeze up a couple of times. It was different.

It's at Holland, on Lake Michigan, and that's the red light at the end of the south breakwater. Here's the lighthouse: https://www.google.com/search?q=holland+mi+lighthouse+photos&rlz=1C1QJDB_enUS611US611&oq=Holland%2C+MI+lighthouse&aqs=chrome.2.69i57j0l3.14864j0j4&sourceid=chrome&es_sm=93&ie=UTF-8
