That looks terrible for skating on.
Hopefully you didn't bring the skates. I drive up into the mountains and let my dogs run free in the woods. Sometimes simple is the best.

It was a nice warm day for a change, not too windy, and roads were mostly clear....
Heck yeah it looks like a good day with the Crew!! Dunno about walking on the near shore Ice like that though...Lotsa skim ice covered voids from Ice heaves, and we lose a couple tourists a year that way. Be careful with that.;) |

We spent the day out in the country, riding 4-wheelers, exploring the woods, shooting eggs with a .22-----it was around 60 degrees and I was freezing in a sweatshirt and jeans.
I'd love to see some place like that in person for about 5 minutes but I'm not cut out for extreme weather conditions.

Frozen beaches are always interesting. I saw Cape Cod Bay freeze up a couple of times. It was different.
