she's going to get crushed and who ever knocks her out of a game will be labeled a misogynist.

How does she see over her offensive line?
If she plays much it's only a matter of time until some huge linebacker murderizes and seriously injures her. |

Obvious gender discussion aside...5'2"? As a quarterback? How fucking hard up is Hollywood Hills for players, where a 5'2" starting QB of either gender seems like the best option?

Good for her. My sister played as a kicker in a few games on her varsity team. She was a girls soccer varsity captain. She hated it for no other reason than she had no one to hang out with when she was in the locker room before and after the game. I think she got a field goal? No one made a big deal about it. This was 2003 or so.
I wouldn't want to tackle a girl. When we played padless tackle in college for fun, we didn't let any of the girls play with us. It was weird enough blocking girls playing coed flag football. |
|
God....this is a horrible idea.
When I was in high school I played Defensive tackle/noseguard. I was 6' 270 lbs and ran a 4.8 40yd, I was also very strong (Div 1 school prospect, small Div 1, not like SEC) I cleanly tacked QBs that were twice her size and had them sit out plays, games etc. I never had the intention of hurting them. I also was not the biggest on the field. She is going to get injured badly. |

Saw a chick put on pads in high school. It took one play at fullback for her to make sandwiches and grab water for the team. Still respected her for giving it a shot.

Is Hollywood hills known as a powerhouse in high school football?
I bet she'd leave on a stretcher in Texas. |

Dangerous situation.
Even without a big hit. A couple or three, 250lb + muscle heads falling on that girl could break her spine or her neck. Somebody that cares for her needs to step up and get her out while she is still healthy. I got respect for her. Just don't want to see her get destroyed mentally and physically. |
|
I wanted to see her drop back just one time and make a pass in that video. Didn't happen. $20 says she can't even get the ball 30 yards.

My Sons varsity high school team had a young woman who played defensive line. She was a hell of a ball player with excellent instincts.
She will live out the rest of her life with the aches and pains of a couple years of high school ball, she took a beating like no other and she never backed down. If you could take the heart and soul she had for football and put it in a male player you would have a future hall of famer. 18 year old female body just couldn't take the hits and she paid for it. ETA: she wasn't a tiny thing like the OP's QB article. She was probably 5'8" and 150-160. (and yes, she batted for the other team if you know what I mean...) |

I didn't know Jared Lorenzen's daughter was already in high school.

My 5'11", 200 pound freshman lineman/son would end her. There's a kid with a great arm on his team who is 5'6" tall and will probably not get to play QB because the line is all my son's size or bigger. I can't believe there isn't a 6' tall 180-200 pound stud in the school to take the position.

Lol my 6' 8th grade son (starting d-end) would love to get a piece of that (on the field), but the QBs he faces are bigger.

Oh, she'll make history, all right. She'll be famous for all the wrong reasons.
Props to to her for trying, but there's gonna be serious injury in her future. |

The article has a pic of her "loading up to throw the ball"...laces out and palm flat against the ball. Is this a new thing, or were we just behind the times 20 yrs ago.

Eight inches shorter than Doug Flutie who was considered to be a midget for that position. Good luck with that.

How do you know? She never did get tackled. Only played a few downs so far as she told me. I'm not saying this girl isn't going to get wrecked. I'm saying good for her if she wants to try it. This girl plays on the "Spartans" so she must be a tough Spartan warrior. I'm sure she has nothing to worry about. Spartans are supposed to be tough. I saw a movie about it.
