A thread was started last year that got my interest. Chris_C mentioned the site ilovetorun and their 1000 mile challenge. I didn't know this was even a thing until it was too late for me to realistically do 1000 miles. I decided to give it a shot this year. I signed up this morning and will be posting in this thread to keep yall updated on my progress. If any of you decide to do the challenge, let's get together and find each others profiles to keep tabs on each other and keep each other motivated.
I got a start on my miles early this morning. A new year, new Garmin watch, and a new challenge for 2017. 3.53 today/ 3.53 total |

4.56!
I want to get at least 2,500 miles this year. I lost some fitness last month while taking two weeks off to nurse a foot issue that's still bothering me some. It'll take me a while to get that back and get on track for this year, but I think it's doable barring injury that requires time off. There is a Garmin Connect Arfcom group if anyone is interested. Jwatts, which watch did you get? |

I'm going to up my cardio and practical training to go along with my weight lifting, but running distance isn't for me, never has been.

I didn't want anything too complex, just something to track my miles since my phone sucks at doing it. I would like to get in the Arfcom group if you could PM me the info. |

Jwatts - The 210 is a solid watch.
The Garmin Connect group is here. You can also go to the menu on the left (on the website or app) > Groups> Search> "Arfcom". Does anyone have any races coming up? This morning I signed up for a 25k in early March. |

I am probably signing up for a 12k trail run in March, just gotta check the date against my work schedule. |

I'm in
0.00 / 0.00 Of coarse there is 12 inches of snow on the ground and I don't have a treadmill, but I'm in. |

Cooper River Bridge Run as well. Those are my scheduled races so far. |

Made a quick run this morning. I skipped going hunting because of a rain storm about to roll in. It never rained so I decided to go for a run. About halfway through the rain hit so I got good and soaked. Still put in 3 miles though.

Have you ever been to a dedicated running store and had them look at your running gait to suggest shoes? 4.29 / 13.4 Yes, and they put me Brooks Ravennas which have been good for my knees. By my comment I just mean, based on the miles, I need new shoes. |

Can I row it?
1600km would definitely take me a year if I could even pull it off. |

I woke up yesterday with a stomach virus that has been working its way around. I didn't log the miles from the bed to the bathroom, so nothing yesterday or today. 3 days in and I am already playing catch up.

In for motivation. May not keep up everyday and have no device for the challenge, but here we go.

I like this. I started running in June of 2015. Could barely jog 20 minutes. Now running 6 miles regularly. I'm in for 1k miles this year.

Half of my running is on a treadmill. You can manually add workouts in Garmin Connect, Strava, or Nike Plus, probably the others as well. Right now the Ilovetorun site isn't set up to sync with Garmin Connect so I am manually updating the site. It's more of an honor system than anything else.
|
|
I use Runkeeper. It allows manual input (numbers from my Garmin wrist GPS) or the phone's GPS data.
|
|
Alright - I'll give it a shot.
Started running again on the 1st. I used to run fairly frequently, but didn't much last year after a minor injury (excuse plain and simple). So far, I've ran everyday this year and am at a meager 9/1000. |
|
What the heck, I'm in.
Currently training for a marathon in April (16 week program), so I'm only running 3 days a week, but so far: 01/03/2017 - 06.00 miles / 06.00 miles 01/05/2017 - 06.24 miles / 12.24 miles Long run Saturday (13 miles) I log all of my miles at Running 2 win Cross-training and resting the other 2 days. Can't say if I'll hit 1K total miles this year. Only ran 805.34 miles last year. Then again, I was out for a month due to an injury. |

3" of snow last night and a wind chill about 3° this morning. ![]() |

Been using the cold weather as an excuse not to run. Finally said screw it, geared up an headed out. 15° felt great.

In again--determined not to get side tracked and have a nice easy injury free year this year. Plus my MIL got me a new pair of Kinvara's for Christmas so I figure I better run them out.
|
|
I finally shook this fever and stomach virus. Gonna try to get some miles in this afternoon and play catch up.
