First I've heard of it. Coolest thing I've seen today. Thanks for sharing!

is that a Sterling stock? also, what kind of price range are we talking?
|
|

I've shot my friend's replica several times. They are very neat, historically, but you can make something modern that is just as quiet, half the weight, and a quarter the price.

I have a #1MkIII that would be a perfect donor for such a project. However, I think I would like to set mine up with a mount for my .45-Octane. More of a tribute than a reproduction. I'll bet .45acp from a long barrel (longer than a pistol) and bolt-action would be really quiet.

One of my Grail guns.
Cool as all get out. Spendy. http://www.specialinterestarms.com/index.php?page=delisle http://www.valkyriearms.com/delisle.html |

Dammit!!! Lemmee guess, photofucket? Tagged for home!
ETA: Just a side question - with Brexit and a new conservative PM, is there any chance the UK will move back to the center and common sense as far as firearms ownership is concerned? |

Those rifles, in my opinion, are one of the best things the human brain has ever come up with.

Very nice. The only sad bit to me was finding out that the 1911 mags it uses have to be modified to fit, as the mag release uses a catch in a spine welded on the back. I would imagine a modern stacked cone suppressor would be superior to the single spiral baffle of the original. Pretty awesome for the day, however. Needs an American M3 Sniper Scope w/ giant battery pack for the IR lamp fitted to it.

I shot a replica one a few years back , it was very nice and very quiet

Those are beautiful. Never seem the paratrooper version, that's amazing work.

|
Curious about the range adjustment on the sight; just how optimistic was the designer about accurate range for a suppressed .45 ACP?
ETA - Sorry, I missed that you have a close up of the range adjustment. |

What are the legalities of owning one of these in the UK? Is it even possible if you are not affiliated with the government?
|
|
looks like an extremely fun build if you had the skills to do it.

What are UK suppressor laws like? Super cool gun btw! View Quote Unregulated. The UK actually does things pretty intelligently, in terms of how firearms are tracked/controlled. They're far too restrictive, of course, but the controlled item is the barrel, and the regulated features are only those that actually relate to the gun's function. The "long handgun" thing is notoriously stupid as fuck, but that's one thing among many, whereas almost all of our laws are fucking retarded. |
|
I understand that the replicas we are able to acquire can have severe accuracy issues. How are those?

A surplus vendor, here in the states had a few for sale in the late seventies. Just didn't have the money at the time. I believe it was Sarco. I don't remember if they were complete.

Looking good, Bradders!
I'm sure Nick is super-happy, but what's he going to do with my old SMLE now? :) |
|
|
That's really cool. I have absolutely zero need for one but if I ever come into a bucket of money, I'll just have to have one.
|
|
Man, that is beautiful!
![]() I first learned of the DeLisle in the mid to late seventies and have had a lust affair ever since. After now reading the rest of the thread I'm now thinking I have a perfect candidate for a project. A couple years ago I picked up a Lithgow MklllNol. Unfortunately most of the bullets that actually hit an IDPA silhouette strike sideways. At twentyfive feet! ![]() ![]() |

Sweet Lord have Mercy!
A weapon I have long admired. I've shot the OSS suppressed M3 Grease Gun and High Standard .22 pistol, but that's a weapon I've never had access to. Very nice. |
|
That's fucking awesome. I'd love to have a replica of a De Lisle.

That looks pretty nice.
I want one but I am sure I can't afford it right now. ![]() |
