I am probably gonna get corrected in like 2 seconds but I think its an EDM Arms Windrunner XM-107 Tactical 50.   Only thing that throws me off is the custom carrying handle that hangs under between the bipod legs.

It was actually in .408 CheyTac, not .50BMG.

Correct.  Not EDM.

www.cheytac.com

Only a cool $14k for the "civilian" version.

Do a search for Cheytac on the board. They tried selling less accurate rifles to US civilians as a "safety measure". The thread makes for interesting reading.

I believe cheytac's are made with edm receivers and most parts and less accurate for double the price(well the civi model is at least).  Could be wrong.

There was also a 50 in the movie, it was a Barrett thought

Why was he having to manually cycle the M82 in the movie?

I noticed that too, and remembered thinking how retarded that was.  Probably for dramatic affect.

Nope, you are correct.

First batch of rifles were built with EDM's assistance and then the fuckers went and basically stole the design to farm out the receivers to be produced by another company.

Total dick move.   Buy the same thing from EDM for significantly less, seeming how EDM has gotten smart and will now throw on the handguard and tacticool handle to give CheyTac a taste of their own medicine.

Discussions on the 408CheyTac date back to 98-2000 on various long range shooting forums with a variety of professionals in the law enforcement and military professions.   Yet the round is only just now getting the recognition it deserves due to the hijinks of CheyTac and some very poor customer relation stunts early on.

Most every time I learned something about the round it came from people shooting EDM or PGW rifles.

Blanks wouldn't cycle the weapon.

You mean they don't have a blank firing adapter like they do for the M16.

Fuckin CheyTac can go to hell, stealing other peoples designs and then making them crappier then dubbling the price! Then they had the balls to say that they wouldn't sell the military version to the public! What a joke, I think the only diff was the length of the barrel.

If you want a .408 EDM and want it set up like the Chey Tac, call Bill Ritchie and ask him. He said he would do all the same mods and sell it for less then these sorry dickwads.

Totally agree.
