Some mighty fine weapons to see here guys, i hope you know how lucky you all are living where you do, some of the weapons on this site are only a dream for us poor brits.
With laws like we have here we'll be lucky if we still have our rifles in the next couple of years.

Anyway, it's nice to see som fine ar-15's here on this site i'm just about to buy one myself ( single shot only ) as our laws currently allow.

Keep up the good work !

Your not wrong, theres talk over here of taking our ruger 10/22's from us because there semi auto, and as for aour pistols , we have to buy long barreled pistols with a 21 inch barrel, and if we decide to shorten the barrel, for every inch we chop of the barrel we have to add a unmovable bar to the back of equal legnth.
Sad but true.

Even our air rifle can only be 12ft/pd, or they have to go on our firearms licence !!!

You need to start a grass roots movement for getting firearms back into the hands of law-abiding citizens. If Enough people realize it's the criminals doing the harm, not the law abiding citizens, then things can change.

Remember, an armed man is a citizen, but a disarmed man is a subject.

Hey Clayo, Im from England and moved here 7 years ago. I have several ar15's and a growing number of other guns, rifle and pistol.
I have a place in the country with large acerage and can shoot and hunt there in my own back yard.
They would have to drag me back to old blity kicking and screaming.
Moving to the USA was probaly the best thing I have ever done, exept divorcing my x-wife. Ha Ha.
I have two ruger 10/22's and they are like my yard toys.
Sorry old chap.........chin up.

Thanx Guys

Unfortunatly our government insists on using the word "firearms" for everything, so the average guy on the street is still under the impression that we who shoot are all crazed gunmen shooting people left, right and centre, but in fact there is almost no crimes caused by any licenced firearms at all, all the crimes are people using semi auto pistols which were not allowed to have on our licences anyway.

Make room lads, theres one more brit on his way to the u.s. to live !!

Just make sure you pisk the right  state! Some states here are almost as bad as the UK for gun restrictions!

State Laws (firearms law center)

Seven states have enacted laws banning assault weapons: California, Connecticut, Hawaii, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey and New York.

Six states ban large-capacity ammunition magazines to one degree or another: California, Hawaii, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey and New York.

Local Laws

At least 17 counties, cities and villages in four states currently ban assault weapons to some degree, including:

Illinois – Aurora, Chicago, Cicero, Cook County, Niles and Oak Park;
Indiana – East Chicago and Gary;
New York – Albany, Buffalo, New York City and Rochester; and
Ohio – Cleveland, Cincinnati, Dayton, Dublin and Toledo.

At least 11 cities and villages in three states currently ban large-capacity magazines to some degree, including:

Illinois – Aurora, Chicago, Franklin Park, Oak Park and Riverdale;
New York – Buffalo, New York and Rochester; and
Ohio – Cincinnati, Columbus and Toledo

Avoid these places like the plague!

Good friend in Scotland had to "turn over" his Colt Python and Berreta 92 some years back.  Found out he could have shipped them to us as his "long lost relatives" in the US, but found this out too late!  I send him gun mags every so often to keep his juices flowing.

Travelled to GB many times and love the country and the regular people I've met there.  But the gov't is a bit too "controlling" for me....

Truely best wishes from an Anglophile (exept for your gun laws and soc medicine, etc..)

hey clayo if you ever decide to move to the US. think about Oklahoma, we have ample hunting and shooting areas within 20 miles of all are major cities most even closer, cost of living is one of the cheapest in the US. and we have "cocealed carry and make my day laws" that allow the common citizen to lawfully protect their families and property without fear or persicution from the state.

I'm guessing if a Brit shows up on Arfcom, talks for a bit, and then ACTUALLY moves to the states, the local Arcommers could get one hell of a welcome wagon set up for em.

Hell, come to PA, you'll love it.

Sorry, the "Immigrant Diversity" Green Card lottery stopped taking applicants from England in the mid-90s; letting more anglos in didn't contribute to diversity I guess. Of course, the Irish still get in... must be a shortage of those here .

If you have a specialist skill/experience (minimum of a bachelors degree with several years in a rare profession) or if you are a qualified nurse, you have a good chance of employment-based immigration... look into it. Otherwise, the best way of getting in is still by marriage .

When I left, rimfire rifles were still OK (including 10/22s), though doubtless nowadays they are being blamed for everything from teen pregnancy to the balance of payments deficit. I actually owned this rifle:

It had a 12" barrel which was threaded for a suppressor. I had to get rid of it before coming to the US because of the restrictive gun laws here . Still, the US does have its compensations.
