I find myself in an interesting position.  I've spent the last six months scraping pennies together to build a lower, but was daunted at the task of getting the really spensive part...the upper.

So this weekend, I got the cleaning bug and cleaned the holy heck out of the house.  The wife just about lost it and asked me what I wanted.  Jokingly I said five to six hundred dollars to buy an AR upper, Har har yuk yuk.

She agreed!he
There's the CMMG 16” M10 Mid-Length MedCon Upper, and the regular old CMMG 16” Mid-Length Upper.

The only difference I can tell from the CMMG catalog is the M10 multi-role barrel and the government contour barrel.

So what is the M10 multi-role barrel, and would I be better off with it?  This is my first AR and it's going to be primarily a fun range blaster, and secondarily might take the place of my Mossberg as a home defense weapon.  Thirdarily it'll be for when the mutant zombies finally attack.

Any info would be appreciated.

Thanks.
