I have not seen anything on this subject in some time. Last I saw here was that they were #2 on MagPul's priority list and that they would be out soon.

Any info?

Thanks...

Any new word on price point?

Is "L-Plate" or "Lumpy" gonna be marked on the plate anywhere?  Maybe on the bottom so it can take all the hits......

I hope you're laughing at my comment and not at the fact that I'm stupid for thinkin' Magpul would actually do that.....

BTW, I hope they do mark them and give cred where cred is due....IMHO.

When they come out, I'm buying a half-dozen, at least.

I really have to give credit to Magpul for listening to Lumpy's idea.  Makes me want to shop with them all the more.

Wow I like the look's of these , how do they come off ?

I think they go on like a ranger plate. There is a polymer base plate that fits up in to the magazine with a tab on the bottom. The Lumpy plate will slide on to the metal tabs that held the metal floor plate on. Then spring tension pushes the tab from the polymer base plate down through the center of the Lumpy plate to lock it on.

A Ranger plate without the "Ranger"....

Interesting.....

And the use would be for possibly getting a better fit into a mag pouch while still protecting the bottom of the mag itself?  Any other uses?

Needless to say some will be heading my way for "collector's" value.

I think (we're in trouble now) that he mentioned the idea because of baseplates and the baseplate tabs getting beat up while letting the mags drop free and hit the ground.

These are basically a cushion that protects the mag.

So.........was I close?

WIZZO

EDIT: long weekend.....can't spell

I actually prefer the look of those to the ranger plates.

MagPul. I can't thank them enough already for the god-sent enhanced follower. I've recovered many a POS mag just by replacing the follower with one of those. The enhanced trigger guard is also one of the best visual enhancements for the AR receiver ever.

Now, this comes along. I may just faint.

Besides, can you guys imagine how swelled up Lumpy's head is now that someone listened to him?

Already in the works. We are just waiting on a USGI mag manufacture approval and the Lumpies to be finished.

Magpul Industry thread link

I asked in the noted Magpul Industry board 9/28 WED, if Magpul will make high performance magazines and this was his answer.

Richard,

With so many magazine improvements under your belt, I think the next logical progression is to manufacture your own complete magazines in house.

Just my two cents.

Justin

ETA: I just saw the above linked thread.  My bad.

I think they should make the Lumpy only in pink.
