Spent wednesday at the range.

Before you crack on my ear muff/suppressor combo, know that the Barrett was 20 feet to my left puttin 'em down range at the same time.

I bet you noticed the giggle switch.  Ringin the pepper popper at 200.

Best group of the day was from a used/abused SR25.  Throat erosion gaged at a 7 and shot a .510 inch three shot group at 100.  51 degrees, sunny, NW 10mph wind.  Factory 175g BTHP.  Fresh barrels gage around 4 for comparison.

No hijack.  Prior 2/75, 5 yrs. Earned the patch.

The ops can is a damn fine can!  If I had to choose one for myself it would be number one.  Less noise than the KAC QD, although I was shooting that on a 10.5.

Yeah, yeah...about the mat.  Whatever, it's still better than concrete.  We were static on that range so I didn't mind showing off my super-cool-guy (re: puss pad) mat.

I actually didn't get much trigger time on film, we had some "guests" at the range.  When they left, so did my camera guy.  We didn't get any work done until they left.

Behind the Barrett.  2 MOA is all I can get.  Non AR, but at least is gun porn.

This is how I like 'em.  I prefer ACOG over Eotech.  But irons are fine too.

Man, what glass is that on your 107?  Anyway, I have never done better than 2 MOA with the Barrett, either.  I'm shooting roughly 3 MOA with M8 API right now.

I agree about the cans.  I "lost" my SPR and had it replaced with the SR, but I loved the can.  I have been impressed with the KAC QD, as well.  We have not experienced any change in POI with that device.  I can't say the same for the SR-25.

As for shooting with the bipod on the mat, I have found that if I zero from the bipod while shooting on the turf I have POI issues when shooting from concrete, so I shoot with the bipod on a mat/pad when shooting from concrete and hard surfaces.  This is not an issue when shooting from a sling.  Just an observation.

Great photos.  They made me nostalgic for those bursts on maidens at 200m!

Ricochets can be deadly or at least hurt really bad.

Just a step above wearing eyes and ears (or do you give people greif for being safe in general)

First: As was posted, train as you fight.  Shooting in BA is vasty different than shooting without it.  Second: It was 45 degrees still, it didn't warm up to the 50's until later in the day.  If you have experience in BA you would know it's like an oven for your torso.  Third:  Jealousy is unbecoming.

I wasn't going to post this pic, but since I've been called out on trying to be tacti-cool I will.  We took a break for a minute to get a pic down by the river (and yes, we drive a van).  I would post a pic of the guests we were hosting, but PERSEC prevents it.

I designed the 3+2 mag pouch where wearing.  Nothing special, but I couldn't find what I wanted on the open market so I had it made.  "That's how we roll."  So next time your filling up with gas and you see this Grizzly adams MF'r, check your 6 because I won't be too far away.
Be sure to wave.

You are truly among the uninitiated, aren't you?  Did you really think this was some punk kid posing with body armor, multiple cans and FA/SBR equipment while wearing his cousin's hat with the Ranger crest?  Do you really think that the .mil and other agencies don't encourage, if not mandate, shooting with body armor under certain circumstances for a multitude of reasons?

Precisely, but then something as logical as that surely escapes those who come here purely to rip on people that are obviously below them.

I often wonder why a single thread cannot go through this site without some self-important prick making a wise assed comment on ones weapon, gear, technique, or choice of attire (not the knit cap comment)? For once I wish the MODS here would actually MODERATE this place, and put an end to the one thing that drags this place down.

I am going to give a +1 to the body armor. I wear it every time I  go to the range. There are too many unknowns at the range. I wear it with when I shoot with the people I work with as well.  Too many mistakes with firearms only get to be made one time.
