Slowly but surely gathering parts. Still need - Colt upper receiver Charging handle (looks like they're using USGI, which in that case I have plenty of) ODG CTR stock ODG grip, or Hogue / ERGO grip Barrel (possibly wait on the prices to drop on these. Not paying 400+) BUIS |

Speaking of taking photos instead of shooting (kinda hard without a barrel). Below is a comparison of B5 SOPMOD in OD Green with the G Federal rail. Mine is almost a bright emerald color in natural light. Tried to get a good photo under white LED for a fair comparison. I figure most will be going the CTR route, just figured I’d throw this in here for comparison. Good luck with the clones, mines looking like a 10.5” 300 blk for suppressed shooting, so won’t be participating much in here.

SWAT Agents have more latitude for changing things like pistol grips so even if the guns come with ERGO grips or Houge grips, they can it swapped out for something else within reason like magpul. The catch is the gun would need to be sent to the Armorers in Quantico for the switch unless they happened to catch one of the mobile Armorer teams at their office. Generally swat agents can swap for different stocks, optics lights within reason etc though their local Fireams program and team leadership may have a say in that. Point being there is a basic configuration the guns are issued in but for SWAT guns there is variation after that. For example some of the guys around here seem to favor the B5 Bravo stock. It also may depend on what was on hand in the gun vault hand the last time the gun was built / re-built. |
