I fell off the wagon a couple months ago and put together a Romanian AK kit. To my cmplete surprise it really worked and what a fun gun to shoot. I love my AR and would never give it up, but I noticed that the AK mags are totally superior to the AR mags ( and I have the best AR mags). Here is the test. Take your finger and press on the very front of the AK mag and it will compress smoothly without tipping at all. Now try the same thing with your AR mag and it will tip and jam. Now my AR mags function ok but why can't we Americans build a decent AR mag that will work as smoothly as the AK? If I thought I had the expertise to do it I would build a better AR mag put all of the current AR mag maufacturers out of business tomorrow. |
