If so, how does it balance? Also, does the weight make it easier to stay on target?

I am, its fuckin perfect if you ask me. Pics up in a min.

14.5 voodoo barrel, pinned manimal. Gasblock/barrel nut removable with flash hider in place, pretty nice. Best pics I have of this one ATM.
I also have a bcm upper with a 13" kmr with 14.5 government profile. Weight/balance wise they both are pretty similar, with aimpoint micros on both of them they feel almost the same. The only noticeable difference is the shape, kmr being smaller. The mk8 for me is pretty nice with big hands

Yes.  Actually I can provide you info on my 14.5 and my best friend's, as we both have 14.5's with 13 smr's.  We both are big fans of the rail.  His balances much better than mine as he uses an elw barrel. Both of us are very happy with the rail

I think it balances great. It doesn't feel excessively front heavy. Easy to shoot and stay on target, but it's also a middy with a warcomp.

thanks for the input so far. Also, I forgot to mention that this is for a "run and gun" build and not a "mini RECCE".

Found a better pic, I can't decide if want to use the smr upper as a recce or keep an aimpoint on it.
Currently it wears the razor.

If you want it to be light save weight on the barrel (elw perhaps, fluted perhaps), optic and stock.  in my opinion the smr is one of the rails that actually is designed superior, so I don't mind the weight and compared to most other rails it's decent in weight unless you go with a kmr.  My setup is very heavy and may get heavier, but that doesn't bother me because I have lightweight in another configuration.  if you have Instagram find me, easier to post pics there.
