I paid right at $700 (out the door) for a sgl21 with black furniture. This is the first time I have held an AK type rifle. My first thought was it looked and felt like a toy. It was lighter than I had expected and the tapco mag I added was fairly loose fitting, (it wobbled). My son and I took it to the range and that is where I started feeling better about my $700 investment. The function was flawless, other shooters were admiring this rifle, it was more on target than what I expected. Ammo in this caliber (7.62x39) is cheap and plentiful. Break free CLP is the only recomended cleaner for this rifle, I broke it down and am confident and amazed how simple the mechenism works and can see why they are so reliable. 700 bucks is alot of money but what else would I have done with it? Can't take it with you.
One other thing is that the barrel is not threaded in the tradional ak left hand thread so finding comps and flash hiders aint so easy. |

You won't regret your purchase, I love my SGL21. They are fine rifles. As for muzzle attachments, there are more than you think.

Mine gets delivered on thursday. I hope i like it better than some others on here. Its my first AK. My 21s function fine and they are undeniably well built. For some reason, I'm just not very accurate with them. They are the only Kalashnikovs that I have used with the 74 brake. I think that may have something to do with it as I have been more accurate with Chinese AKs and Romanians while using the same ammo. I think the slant brake likes me more. |

Please put some Russian laminate on one of those three SGL rifles. I say the black one..... Good idea! Z I've been toying with the idea. Every time I see a good price on a set, I miss it. PM me if you have a good line on a reasonably priced set... |

Bulgarian flash hider Krinkov style Bulgarian 4 piece Dummy silencer New Manticore flash hider I don't believe the Manticore FS will work on 21s yet. They are working on it and as soon as they have one that will work on a 21 then my 21 will be wearing one. Brakes suck IMHO unless your are shooting something big. |

Congrats OP on your purchase, I have the 21 and the 31 (5.45) and love them both. You will get a lifetime of trouble free service from your investment.
Do yourself a favor and loose the Tapco Mag and get some com-block metal mags. The bulgarians from AIM are exelent and about $9ea. |

That's what real Russian laminate furniture looks like from the factory. I did the same thing to my SGL31, looks incredible in the sun. |
