Been thinking about SLR105 but not having ammo is kinda holding me back. Is this stuff normally as available as the 7.62?

In my experiance Sportsmans Guide are sometimes conservative about their back order estimates. Somestimes by 3-4 weeks.

However, I have the same problem. I've been thinking about a wasr2 but really don'y like the idea of having to hunt for ammo.

Ammo deals are getting harder to find for 7.62*39 and 5.56*45 much less the more elusive 5.45*39.

For the past 5 years it has been as easy to order by the case from distributors as other commie ammo, but this year has not been good. Large govt orders have our hobby on the back burner.

I cant believe how easy it is to come by around here... It sells at shows for between 110-117 a case. In fact, I just bought another case of it today for $115.00.. I have over 7,000 rounds of 5.45 now to feed my 4 AK74s................

and no- I wont sell any of it to you.

Dangit. I ordered 1000 rnds of 5.45 from SG at the beginning of the month, and they gave me an expected shipping date of the 20th. I just checked my order status and now the expected ship date is pushed way back to April 30th! h!
I think I might just cancel this order and try through someone else. Any thoughts?

I just got the same back order notice today. Why would you want to cancel? They don't charge you untill they ship your ammo. Where else are you going to find it? If you do, and you get all you possibly need or afford then cancel. Also let us know if you find any.

Yeah, you have a good point. I guess I'll keep the order. I'll only cancel it if I find somewhere else (that seems to be a big IF at the moment). I suppose I'm a little frustrated; I recently picked up an SLR-105 A1 R, got a nice POSP 4x24, and I just can't wait to shoot it! here

I ordered Jan 26 - my backorder date is now 4-30, moved from 2-13.

The backorder date is a sliding scale - we are not being backordered... we are being rationed.

My order from 17 Dec now projects ship date of 31 March. Feb order projects 13 Aug. If you find ANY 5.45, BUY IT!

Wouldn't surprise me if when people start selling the their ak74s they take a small loss since the ammo hasn't been available for awhile.

I have been on back order from Centerfire Systems and SG since last Oct. Centerfire has no clue and SG just keeps postponing the date. Fortunately, I did stock up and feel pretty confident I can ride out the storm for a while. But I am stocking up on .22 rimfire though.

i feel lucky i have a cabelas in town, they always seem to have more ammo than anyone. i was just there the other day, and they got all sorts of 7.62 ammo; its a wee bit more expensive now then it was, but at least you can get it right away. their price for 500 rds WAS about $60, 65, depending on what you got (fmj, sp, or hp). right now they're sitting at about $80-85 per 500 rds.

whats the deal with wolf ammo? i heard the ruskies are supplying someone with it, and thus theres a shortage...
