you need to learn to not get on the national tuners frequency.

what are you talking about? 7.203 isnt listed as any special freq, plus FCC states:

No frequency will be assigned for the exclusive use of any station." No one "owns" a frequency.

7.290 is listed as a AM calling freq but i havent seen anything about 7.203.

Newbie.   you will learn that tuners get any frequency they want.   That is one of the unwritten rules.

im still missing something. explain it to me so i dont offend anyone again.

KM was making a joke.  Lots of Hams tend to find a frequency with a QSO in progress, then tune up on that frequency, which, of course, makes quite a pleasant tone.  KM was making a joke about all the QRM from tuners on 7203, jokingly referring to it as the "national tuners frequency."

just making sarcastic remarks.   It seems that whenever a conversation starts on a frequency that someone has to come in and tune up and interfere with the conversation.  With the modern auto tuners and radios tuning takes very little time if any.  There are always people on the bands who interfere with others enjoyment of the hobby.  one more rule...... If you are going to tune up on the air.... NEVER give a call sign.   It is a sure sign of a lid or very new operator to give your callsign.   (more sarcasm.  Don't take me too seriously )

Back when I was first licensed every radio had tubes.   Tuning was necessary.  But we had big cans of transformer oil with a resistor in them  Most of the tuning could be done with that and only a little touch up on the air... but still many insisted in tuning on the air.  There were bad operators in the 1060's and still are today.

the noise i was talking about was the S8-9 static i have at my QTH, not noise from someone creating interference.

OH, and if anyone else is around i am headed back out for a little while. hoping i can get out farther than Ne.

Thanks for coming back to you, I had a moderately weak signal then  a great signal as I got your QTH then it's like your signal dropped out. Thankyou for the contact!

I am running a fan dipole, 40m, 20m, and 10m elements. I finally got back in the attic and tuned my 20m element this morning...swr is down to 1.3:1. I hope the problem isn't on my end.  Will monitor a bit longer. You are my first 20m contact!
