Here is a key chain fob I made for myself a couple years ago that I use every day.
The proper term is "Knobby Knot". When it was first shown to me I was told it was a "20 sided monkey's fist", but after having made a few, I realized it only has 18 sides.  So now I just call it a knobby knot. There is a ball from a computer mouse inside of it.
While not para cord, here are a couple things I've also made in the past: This is a really big monkey's fist that I made many years ago. This one has a bowling ball inside of it. Possibly the hardest thing I've ever made... Sat for a long time in the garage, hence the dirt/dust. 
And here is a door mat that I also made many years ago and still to this day sits outside my front door.

I'll dig out the directions this weekend and see if I can scan them into a picture and post here.
I't not made like a regular monkey's fist which is tied in the hand (or around the fingers), the knobby knot is done on the ground in a kind of a weave. Then as it is tightened up, it slowly takes the shape of a ball, then you insert your filler and continue to tighten. A pretty long process, but when you are done, you have a really unusual looking monkey fist. As for the mat, I'm not sure really. I had (still have) several large rolls of the stuff. I followed the directions in one of the many knot books that I have, and it seems to me it gave a rough estimate on the length of rope needed. |

I made a sling for my lever action rifle out of 550 cord and some extra buckles salvaged from a backpack, all in all it took around 45 feet of 550 cord. Here is the pattern used for both parts of the sling. And here are the pictures(I'll post a full length picture so you can see how it hangs later):

Just leave it as you did the last cobra stich, then pull it TIGHT. Then cut it off just even with the loop part of the cobra knot. Then use a light and melt the ends and then smear it across the loop to retain it. It cna be picked off later if you need to use the braclet and makes it look nice and even. Good job |

Finished my sling tonight. About 80 feet of cord, didn't bother to measure it. Nothing fancy, king cobra stitch, OD over coyote. Works perfectly as a hasty sling, which is what I wanted.

There was a thread about this site a long time ago and i just now got around to trying it out. http://www.itwnexus.com/ You can get up to five free samples that come with 3-4 of each item per sample. They wont let you get more than one sample of any item so no repeats. crappy cell pics
