| I have three .50 cal. cans in the basement filled with some bare essentials for a grab n' go scenario. They're painted fluorescent orange to stick out even if the power fails and the only illumination is moonlight coming through the window. Mrs. justbill understands that if there's a serious emergency, she is to load these three cans into the car right after the kids. |

Here are some ideas from the 4x4 crowd including using ammo cans as speaker enclosures in jeeps, plus center consoles etc.

What's a 'River Stereo'? if its what i know them to be, its a cooler (or in this case ammo can) that has battery and electrics inside the waterproof box (tuner, cd player etc) and waterproof speakers mounted to the outside. useful for tubing down the river, just throw in another tube and tie it on (along with yet another one for the beer cooler) |

Onder if anyone could make it emp proof? I ran a MINI-ITX board as my first generation carPC.....don't count on doing a whole hell of a lot with it. Running windows XP stripped down, Itunes, MS Streets and Trips, and WMP for video it would bog down pretty good. LOL that said I'm not running a PICO-ITX with XP stripped, winamp, WMP classic, iGuidance, and Roadrunner for a front end and that seems to be doing pretty good. GPS function is still laggy but I can't tell if it's because of the processor or the GPS Mouse. ...and if you just read that and are going o.O the cliff notes is dont' expect to run a whole heck of a lot aside from music and internet off a MINI-ITX board |

I have a buddy who's an Observer/Controller in Louisiana. He made a memory foam seat cushion for the top of his Mk19 ammo can storage box. The inside is divided with home-made plastic inserts for his Jetboil stove, fuel, radio batteries, AAR kit, cameras, whatever. The whole thing fits securely behind the Driver seat of a HMMWV. During breaks, he just breaks out a lawn chair and makes a cup of coffee, takes his boots off and props them up on the can. I'd swear I'd seen that guy. Colonel Lew Millett taught me how to make really big fragmentation grenades out of one, but that's not really a Survival Forum use. Is Lew Millett from Maine by any chance?? |

Laptop style power supply, SSD drive and slim DVD rom. Just have to make time to mount it all and make it pretty. Will run 7 or XP just fine |
