Parkerville Rd. in DeSoto. Investigators did not release much information on the circumstances of the kidnapping, but they say Overby was at a Taco Casa in Lancaster buying a meal for a homeless man. Police now consider that homeless man the main suspect. He was described as a bald Hispanic man between the ages of 25-35. He was last seen wearing a blue and white plaid shirt. Overby was last seen in her 2015 silver Chevy Malibu with Texas license plate #KDY7339. Police say her car has a large dent on the rear left quarter panel and has a bulldog sticker on the rear window. She had her hair in a ponytail and was wearing black scrubs. Overby is believed to be in grave danger. Anyone with info is urged to call 911. Some good news (that needs some proofreading).

The suspect was able to get into the apartment and a struggle reportedly started inside between the suspect and the residents, officials said. When the officers got to the apartment, they encountered a man with a firearm pointed toward them, police said. A press release said the intruder was subsequently apprehended and taken into custody without further incident. The officer who fired his weapon has been placed on administrative leave, Haltom City police said, citing standard procedure during an officer-involved shooting investigation. $150k rewards offered in 3 separate armed robberies of U.S. mail carriers
https://www.nbcdfw.com/news/local/150k-rewards-offered-in-3-separate-armed-robberies-of-u-s-mail-carriers/3455145/ Federal authorities investigating a string of armed robberies in Dallas are offering rewards of up to $150,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the suspects in each case. View Quote The latest happened on Jan. 29 at around 4:15 p.m. at the Oaks of North Dallas on Haverwood Lane. The apartment community has a sign posted outside the leasing office labeling it a habitual crime property. The mail carrier was reportedly approached by a suspect described as a Black male, about 5’10”, in his early 20s, wearing a black hoodie, red shorts with a black and white stripe, black socks and white shoes. View Quote A suspect wearing a full-face mask and a letterman jacket with white sleeves and navy blue lettering reportedly held up a mail carrier at the Sophia Apartments on Hudnall Street on Jan. 12. This suspect is approximately 5’10”, in his teens or early 20s. The federal employee in this case was also unharmed. View Quote On Dec. 28, two men were accused of holding up a letter carrier at 3525 Colonial Avenue in Dallas at about 11:25 a.m. There is only a vague description of the masked suspects in this case. View Quote Robbery of on-duty postal employees is on the rise across the nation, according to statistics provided by the inspector’s office. The number of cases reported in 2022 was 423, exponentially higher than the 94 robberies reported in 2019. A fraction of these federal crimes result in arrests and convictions, according to the data. Convictions can carry up to ten years in federal prison. View Quote Imagine if all the other armed robberies had 1/4 this much effort put into them by authorities. |
