I am in need of a small 3D print job done. I have two magazine followers that need a small lip on them. I am close to Madison but can travel a little.

I don't have the files. I need help deciding if it is possible to add a small profile to a mag follower or to start over with a new follower. The manufacturer acknowledged a mistake during production and sent a different magazine. I have two mags that have a bad follower and rather than throw them away I wanted to see if I could fix them.

Sounds like you need to get your own 3d printer and learn this stuff yourself. You'll find there is a whole lot of stuff you can make.

I have both FDM and resin printers, but you'll have to find somebody to design the STL for you.
I'd suggest putting a topic in the "Hobby" forum, and see if anyone is willing to help with the model, prior to finding a printer. |

Why not just epoxy or plastic weld the bit you need on to the followers? You should be looking for model builders not 3D printers lol.

I'm cheap at heart, but as finicky as magazines can be, I think I'd just pitch them. Maybe the mfg. would just send you a couple followers?

I thought about adding epoxy, wasn't sure on my ability to get it exactly correct.
I did reach out to the manufacturer of the magazine, they don't support sending out followers. However they sent me two brand new mags with the correct follower and told me to do what I pleased with the old two. I was just hoping to do something with them instead of throwing them out. |

You could hit them with a mig welder to add a spot or build them up with an oxy set-up and then file them down to look like the new ones. Either way, I'd be sure to mark them for range use only.

They are for a 6.5 Grendel. They're a plastic or poly material. The correct one is 3/8" taller and the brass follower is covering most of the side. The incorrect one has a short "bump" not all the way to the end.

Im about 20 minutes NW of Madison. Im not worth a shit designing, but I do have a good printer, and as long as it isnt any crazy, Ill knock it out for free.
