We need a place and time to rally if this place is shut down. Tech is shutting down groups inhibiting speach and freedom of association. Not good time to do so. Very interesting to think about. But we have things built in in this hobby of ours that will defeat anything that they try to do. In order to enjoy our hobby of shooting, we MUST get out! Kind of hard to shoot in your house or close to your computer! Some of you may not remember the pre-internet days. Let me tell you a history lesson. In the early 80s in california, there was a "safe streets initiative" that the gun banners tried to pass. There were two things that killed it-police actually read the bill, and GUNSHOWS! The media parroted the party line about how this ballot initiative will make everyone safe and happy and everyone will fart pleasant smells after it passes. Then the bill was read, and at the gunshows the california version of the state rifle association was able to get the word out about what the initiative really did. They defeated the political machine that runs the state back then. I know things have changed since then especially in CA, but we still have the same strong points. (as an aside, this defeat is what started the gun banners advertising about "new" armor that cops were wearing in order to try to ban the armor piercing bullets in order to divide cops and gun owners, and also they started pushing the waiting period to kill gunshows) WHAT WE NEED TO DO NOW! In the last year, there have been MILLIONS of new gun owners who have now purchased their first gun. Someone trained us in gun use and all that goes with the responsibility of owning a gun. Now it is our turn. We MUST make sure these people will do so safely, and understand that there is so much more to owning a gun than just mere owning the gun. Every round we fire must be done responsibly, and that tends to make us more careful about what we do in more than just shooting. Take someone hunting if you do that. There needs to be some IRL (In Real Life) meetings going on more than just in our online community. That will also make sure that we are not dealing with some of the keyboard commandos, mall ninjas, or Gecko45 wanabees. For many years i have taught women in the singles group at church to shoot when they wanted to learn. Took a few predator hunting as well, and have been able to teach them other skills such as just basic observation and what you can notice when doing so. Such as all predators act the same, whether a cat, pack of dogs, shark, abuser, rapist or child molester. They all have traits that they all share. Once you know what to look for, it gets easy to spot them. When we have many people trained like this, it will become impossible for someone sitting in an office many miles away to shut down our communications with just a few keystrokes. |

I don’t think you understand we may have a large amount of new gun owners but a large amount of them are the same people that voted for Biden. They have no desire to hunt or meetup with you. They only got a gun because they thought they had lost control of their lives for the past few years and will gladly turn their gun in if a politician tells them to. |

My conclusion is if you haven't already made your connections here, you're on your own. Be ready to link up with your own network of family and friends, everyone else is a stranger. |
