I just did a photo upload test and while there was a lag, it worked just fine.

I was able to post one photo last night, and that was it. Still getting nothing here.

The threaded barrel RXM is showing in stock.

Grabagun (local pickup option for me) shows $429.

A couple other places are cheaper on gun.deals.

Question about the grip...is it basically a glock grip that has been reduced?  Like, the aftermarket packages where they remove that void in the rear hump?  Thanks.

It feels like a Gen 5 Glock grip to me, maybe slightly thicker?

I really need a mic to measure stuff.

Huh, I admit I'm just going on pics but it looks much less "humpy'' in the back (which I believe was done by design to force a certain grip angle).  That's what I dislike about my g19 gen4.

I know the grip reduction is a service offered for glocks, and I've considered it, but at the price these go for it might be worth just buying this to try out.

well, I had the day off and did an impulse buy.  I hope it proves reliable.

I like the grip, mag release, and the sites over my gen4 g19.  Grip angle is great and the slightly longer beavertail is good IMO, my glock likes to bite.

Trigger feels just like a Glock as far as I can tell.  Fits in my glock holster though not exactly perfect fit b/c of the slight different shaped trigger guard.  I don't see any safety concern with the difference, however.

First time with Magpul pistol mags....meh.  I'm a pmags only guy but not sure about these.  I have oem glock mags to use if I decide to carry this though.

I had a Robar worked glock frame. This feels way better.

Sorry for lack of details.

It's a Sharp Bros frame. Comes in Anodized or Burnt Bronze Cerakoted. I figure the anodizing will hold up better. I don't think Sharps anodized under cerakote.

If they had gun metal gray I'd be down. That color wears in nicely, though burnt bronze ain't bad.

Usual drop shipping websites have them for $250.

Liberty Sports and Pawn was about $280, and didn't make me pay extra for insurance. Couldn't find any bad reviews really, avoid Dack.

RXM + Sharp Bros frame + Glock OEM Internals is still ended up being cheaper than the metal M&P. And it takes Glock mags.

Will update once mine arrives.

New frame is great. Function tests fine with my RXM slide.

No luck with my P80 slides, trigger ends up sticking 50% of the time on reset.

Tried Glock/P80/Ruger OEM trigger and slide parts. Tolerance stacking?

I ordered an Aimsurplus slide to test out.  The Olite will get replaced eventually. The grip feels great.

What's puzzling is that it worked fine with the Magpul modules.

Could be the trigger housing. I'll order another from Ruger, they are only $10.

With the AimSurplus slide OTW, I have a feeling I am going to have another SCT build after I'm done troubleshooting lmao..

Correction, it's just one P80 slide in particular. Works with P80/SCT Frames/Magpul Grip Modules without any issues. Worst case I will just use it with one of those.

Glock Guys:
Kinda weird, any ideas? At this point the only part I haven't tried was a striker channel liner.

The Advantage Arms slide actually fits and functions on the Sharps frame. But the polymer mags dont fit in the magwell.

Sucks... I bet the discontinued metal mags do...

Would probably have like no recoil lmao.

Figured out my slide issue with the other P80, my dumbass never put the striker channel liner in. The cost for my mistake? I broke a Glock OEM Firing Pin.

This made me look at my RXM slide that was having some hang-ups on this frame. On closer inspection the OEM striker channel is gouged. likely from when the striker itself broke a few months back.

If the plastic liner is gouged, there's tools to pull it out and you can push in a new one.

I noticed the tool that pushes them in was getting stuck on something, so I did remove it. It was in there good, could not yank it out with a removal tool.

Bubba/McGuyver approach with random stuff.

Put these together in this order:
-Proper sized Long Bolt, sourced mine from a Mossberg Shockwave grip lmao, perfect size and thread pitch. (This will thread into striker channel liner by hand, obviously be super careful. Tap threads into the liner first before assembling tool)
-Couple of washers for the bolt head to push against so it doesn't go into the 3/8" socket.
-3/8 Socket as a spacer.
-Steel Plate/Ring with a hole.
-Square Aluminum Plate with a hole, and 1/8" thick rubber to protect the slide.

As you tighten the bolt down it starts pulling the liner out. Very important you check bolt and spacer length first.

Pulls the old one out enough to just yank it out.

Honestly I haven't really carried it yet. But it should be a bit of a compromise between polymer/steel.
Weight:

RXM Sharps Bros Lower with P80 Slide/Holosun 507C (No light) : 1 LB, 9.6 Oz
P80 G17 Lower with Remsport Slide (No Optic Cut) 1LB 6.3 Oz
P80 G19 Lower with P80 Slide/Holosun 507C: 1LB 5.6 Oz.

Compared to:
All Steel IWI Jericho with Holosun 407K: 2LB 4.5 Oz

Shouldn't be too bad honestly.

I figure It's going to weigh as much as a duty sized weapon, but still carries like a 19. For reference a Glock 34 Gen5 MOS is 1LB 9.9 oz. The weight increase will definitely reduce felt recoil, especially if you throw a light on it.

I was tempted to go with a metal magazine release/trigger shoe, but:

-The Ruger one is pretty good. Almost between a curved glock trigger and a flat face. I usually just get the Polymer 80 flat face triggers. But I might be swapping them out to Ruger's with a glock OEM polished trigger bar. If anyone can recommend a good one metal that does not break the bank or compromise reliability, please let me know. I feel like pins would drift out on a metal shoe unless it uses set screws.

-The Magazine release on the RXM is also very comfortable. Going to metal could potentially accelerate wear on magazines. Though it does look like NDZ makes a hybrid catch.
https://ndzperformance.com/ndz-glock-gen-1-3-hybrid-mag-release-gmrh-g3-v/

Though I figure murphys law... It is now a 2 piece design, adding a additional pin to a mag release that can come lose is another point of failure. The strike industries one looks interesting/more robust. Might give it a try.

-Ruger's slide stop lever is pretty good. However I prefer mine to be as minimal as possible for grip reasons. It doesn't look fancy, but the standard glock ones are good for that. The slide is pretty quick to rack with a red dot mounted. I don't really use slide releases unless it's a CZ/1911 or something.

Feel like I heard metal mag releases could also impact reliability in certain mags?  Can't recall which though.

gotta say, I do really like the mag release and I even like the placement of the slide release which is usually a problem for my paws.  I tend to ride it and don't get hold op on empty mags (at least that's always the case with G19).  I always liked the low profile of the G19 slide release, it's more of a grip issue with me.

I haven't put this through the paces yet but my days of "Ruger is meh" may be at an end if this thing proves reliable.

Looks sharp. [rimshot]

I changed out to an alloy grip on the p365, don’t really see a need for it on the rxm, the magpul grip is pretty sweet, and it won’t disassemble itself inside the oem grip like my Sig did.

Looks like Ruger has a ton of spare parts available on ShopRuger.

The price of the magazine release made me laugh. $20?

The Spring is another $4.

Why do I find this so absurd? You can pick up a Magpul grip module for $25-30 and it comes with a magazine release installed.

They certainly shows Ruger and all of the other manufacturers to not partner with them on any collaborations.

Or if you do, make sure you have a contract that says they will deliver extra amount of parts by the release date.  Then do what Ruger usually does, have everything available on the date of announcement.  Because Ruger screwed up with who they teamed up with.

I have never used anything by Magpul before except for a couple shitty Glock magazines somebody literally gave me because they were unreliable for him.  I just passed them on to someone else once they gave me issues also.

But this doesn't make me want to buy anything from them in the future. They should go back to making wallets and shitty belts and maybe some gay ass jeans next.

They are extremely similar, and by that I mean they shoot the same caliber.

I haven't kept up with any of the BHP clones to see if they have fixed all the issues the older versions had and also adequately updated the weapon sufficiently.  I've never been a traditional single action kind of guy.

It's sort of neat that there are aftermarket grip frames with wood or wood style inserts. Probably not the way I would go, but it is artistically different.

1st gen PMAG’s didn’t age well, and even the M2’s had some sporadic issues with age.

Magpul attacked Lancer saying there’s no way they could hold up, only for Lancers to beat them in most destructive tests. Add to it Lancer actually did equal in military testing aside one ammo type.

Then they released their own transparent mag after saying it wasn’t possible, with some people having issues.

The Gen 1 MBUS were hot garbage.

The ACR debacle.

The Chinese apparel for US made prices.

Rich retiring.

New Yorkers buying them.

While it’s not a bad thing, being standard OEM furniture on almost every AR made kind of waters down their product appeal.

They make good stuff with a few misses that they fixed. For a few years they were pretty cringey in picking industry beefs and trying to turn into a lifestyle brand and I think that hurt them a lot. At one point if you saw a Magpul stock on an AR you knew they were a real gun guy. Those days are long gone so the enthusiast side kind of views them as basic. It’s a double edged sword and a testament to how far the AR market has come in the past 20 years.

Picked this up today. I have an extra vortex dot I'll probably try on it.

Slapped on an RCR, base is too tall for the stock sights to cowitness. Womp womp.

Think I’d have preferred the RMR-HD if it didn’t overhang the ejection port a bit more than I’m comfortable with.
