As for the drag lines, I brought it to the saxet gun show and had it checked by a fellow SW collector/seller. He pulled the hammer back a few times to check the action and the cylinder spun. I zip tied it to stop further spinning. |

That video link for the wife shooting the S&W 500 doesn't work for me so I don't know what it's like but I'd love to have a S&W 500 4"  . It might be a bit much for every day shooting but I love big bores. I have my little .357 magnum derringer, my Ruger Wiley Clapp GP100 .357 magnum, my S&W 629 V-Comp .44 magnum and my .50 Beowulf (which isn't actually a magnum but it sure does act like one!).
Edit: finally saw the slow motion video but not the wife shooting one. You can see in the slow motion video the guy was showing her how to hold that gun correctly but you can see she doesn't follow his instructions at all. Her body position was bad, her arms were wrong and she was trying to hold her face as far away as possible. I'm guessing she didn't have the strength to hold that giant gun correctly nor the experience, he should never have pulled that hammer back for her seeing how bad her form was. Letting her pull the trigger was bound to go wrong, which it did, someone could have been killed from that second shot, very irresponsible IMO. I've seen plenty of women shoot a S&W 500 without any problems but the woman in that slow motion was clearly not ready for a gun like that. |

Picked this guy up the other day with a P38. It was a package deal. It came with some imitation stag grips. I'm wanting to get some target grips for it. This one was 450, didn't really know what it was worth but I picked it up because I was wanting another S&W anyways.
