^^^ Nice! Thinking the factory M17x or M18x with the Mod x9 can would be pretty sick and I just assumed we'd see more of that setup in the future "in the wild." Though correct me if I'm wrong, but the commercial M17x/M18x are NOT identical to what the .mil is getting? What is different exactly? |

Slide is slightly different,optics cut IS different, spring is double braided, and stamping is different. Think that’s it, I have one too. |

The commercial M17X / M18X use the military slide with the same optic cut and military markings, but the slide is combined with a commercial barrel and commercial M17 / M18 prefix FCU, instead of the military TF / TC prefix serial number. Of course, it also has the manual safety removed, which the military version may or may not have. |

The short answer is that the military barrel is apparently pretensioned with a tighter lockup with the slide. Cosmetically, they have different markings. |

An early issued example from ~2019. Does anyone know if Safariland made/makes a non-optic Surefire bearing ALS holster for the M17? It seems like the one photographed above may be what I'm looking for, but everything I've found recently accommodates an optic. I'm aware opticless guns fit in those holsters, but, if possible, would prefer one that doesn't. Thanks.  |

I prefer a full size frame so I've been warming up to the M17. The most recent pictured M17 isn't the same gun as before, I moved to an admin role for a bit so some of the equipment isn't as prevalent. Example, this Company is stocked full of RMRs, yet no adapter plates for the M17s.
