I find it interesting that the more recent pictures show quite a few Romeo 1 pros vs the dpps.  I am looking forward to seeing what optics become battle proven of the latest crop. I haven’t seen any pictures recently taken of CAG or DEV guns unholstered.  Are they still using the dpp or are there new dots entering the pipeline. With the ACRO, Romeo m17, rmr hd, rcr, or even some of the new competition optics out there the sky seems to be the limit.  Will one optic end up on these guns or will it start to go the way of rifle optics and it will be more operator choice like the aimpoint, Eotech and Romeo4ts that show up on the carbines in the same units.

edit for clarification: plenty of other companies send free stuff to units for T&E. This isn't why sig has been winning contracts.

Devgru, besides the blue guns, were issued one x series FCU, and two sets of frames, barrels, and slides. One leupold delta point pro. Both frames had the x series w/ the magwells. The compact barrel was threaded.

Of course they customize these pistols to their liking as seen in the fresh cut slides video.

This info was confirmed by a former armorer.

Essentially these:

I've long suspected this. Incentivized to carry and use SIG by promise of more "free" stuff. Not dissimilar to the old pharmaceutical industry rep model.

Every single company that makes something that JSOC could use does that. From clothing, armor, optics and guns. They test all kinds of shit. Doesn't mean it's going to be issued.

ETA... They send them stuff to T&E in hopes of getting a contract for said item.

I'm going to assume it was the x5 as i was only told it was a small frame and large frame described as plastic version of the legions. A common setup was said to be the larger frame, small slide w/ a comp and the DPP.

Someone correct me if I’m wrong. SOCOM troops officially have either the m17 or m18 depending on branch AND the Glock 19. When the m17s first came out they kept the G19s. Lately there have been many pictures coming back of customized m17s in SOCOM holsters, especially the units that had their access to the G17mos3s taken away. There is another user on this thread that was saying his unit is about 50/50 with Glock and Sig.

Only USASOC is using the m17 as they still get the standard issue army items along with their SOCOM kits.

CD can further clarify this and explain it better.

I haven't seen any other SOCOM units using the m18. There is rumors that the m18 will replace the mk27 but I haven't seen anything substantiating that.

Correct, ODAs still have their Mk27 Mod 1 (Mod 2 only for SEALS).  Mk27 met the requirement for a compact pistol.  The M18 is larger than the Mk27, as it still uses the larger grip frame of the M17.  But I'm not the person that is going to make that discisson.  ODAs here still have the option of either SIG or Glock to carry.

Now I’m wondering if the contract overrun p320 complete uppers that proven outfitters has are from this contract.  They used to list it as a contract overrun but they took that part off the listing. It’s a somewhat unique slide in that it’s a second gen xcarry without the Lci, suppressor height night sight plate, corrosion resistant spring and 13.5 x1 LH threaded barrel. This slide is pre LE version. I would include pictures and a link, but I am not sure how to do that yet.
