Are you gonna let me shoot it? |
Only if your pimp hand is strong. |
How dare you disparage TacPoints with an unworthy gun like that. No, I'm not being sarcastic. |
Your local powder coater may have a super pimp metal flake gold that will work well on that.
Or purple metalflake... You just need to mask off the working parts of the action. If you were near me, I'd use my plating rig, build up the voids and pits in the metal with copper, and lay down a gold plating job on the sucker that would bring a tear to any pimp's eye. Or you could find a guy who paints cars for the local punks and see if he can paint it with some flip-flop. CJ |

How bout a BSA reddot then? |

LOL man.. +1 to what everyone has commented thus far. This is great! :D
Better. |

Ok, if I can get 5 rounds to fire out of this thing without it going nuclear. I will custom make a mount and put some optics on it.
I am also working on some other special touches for the pimp-matic. The conductor says stay tuned....... |
Hey Flamethrower, I don't want to have to put one of these up later.
That's a great idea for the grip color! |
GREAT JOB!!! |
If you have this in higher resolution, I'm going to make it my screensaver. What are you going to do for the grips? I am saving this thread as the best Arfcom post of 2006. |
I started coughing from laughing. Good stuff. So wait, did the bore come out any better than how it first looked? Or is it still pretty well FUBARed? |
Nice. Real nice. |
You need to take some glamour shots of your new gat!
What kind of shape is the barrel in? You should set it up with one of those tiny little red dots (Doctors?) those guys use on their race guns, mag well funnel, and a compensator. It's just begging for it! |
I will take a pic at a higher res for you. Just give me a day or so. The grips are going to be a surprize.
The bore actually came out ok. There is about 70% rifling left. the top of the bore near the chamber is pitted rather good. I think a 124gr bullet or 5 will smooth it right out. I have seen the doc sights. I like them but the cost money. I don't know if I can justify the cost. We shall see. |
You need the Homey style sights. Mounted on the SIDE of the slide instead of on TOP of them.
Who was that who put that spoof up? Birdman? CJ |
You know if the Navy sees this they might want to have you submit this gun for the Seal trials. You may have the next Seal approved hand gun to replace the 226. If I was going into battle I would want to have the Golden Beauty on my hip!
Another vote for the "homey" sights. |
Are you coming to the cold-weather shoot? I must see this in person. You rock.
I has been looking for an old set of Glock sights to do just that. Birdman is where I got the inspiration for it. I just have not been able to find any anywhere used that somebody doesn't want anymore. I don't want to buy any, as it's to costly for this gun.
Glenn I am not going to be able to make it out to CWHG I have the inlaws Christmas party that day. I want to go to the armorers course I just don't think I can come up with the funds to go. It's hard to pass it up at that price, but if you don't have it you don't have it. I am sure it's not a class that I can just "observe". |
I believe CDNN has Stock glock sights and others(any sights'll work on the side of the slide)
for less than 10 bucks. Looking forward to the finished 'Heater'. |
I'll have some surplus plastic Glock sights in January. No charge--they'd just get thrown away otherwise. You could epoxy them to the slide, if you weren't concerned about the finish
You could junk it like this one started out and already be better off. |
Wow!
This thread is awesome! I wish I would have gotten in sooner! Pimp gold is nice but I personally think leopard print would have been better. The grips totally need some plastic bling-bling. They sell cheap sticker packs for girl's cellphones, the grips positively beg for them. |
I have a few rear glock sites laying around. Shoot me a IM and they're yours |
Flametower "creates" I "destroy" I think he'll give me a run for my money doing Earl Shive paintjobs though. |
Flame and I are workin' on the video, have a few more things to do...but I think we will be able to get the video up by next weekend...don't hold your breath though...
it's gonna be totally dumb stupid hyphy on the real! straight pimp-matic, gat gat action for you folks soon. |
Progress continues. Yes it is true I have been to the range. There is good news and bad news.
The good news first. The range is still there, and so are all of our fingers. No ambulance needed to come out either. The bad news. Everyone will have to wait a bit until the video comes out. Guillotine does all of the video editing and he won't be around untill next weekend. The condition of the "Pimp-Matic" is shrouded in secrecy for another few days. However I do have update pictures, that I will be posting until the video relasee. This ride isn't over yet. |
Can't wait for the pictures... Upload some hi-res glamour shots for us!!!
I would have loved to have been at the range when you whipped that bad boy out. Unfortunately, at my range on a Friday or Saturday, it probably wouldn't garner the attention it deserves. We see a lot of Lorcins, Jimenezez, & Brycos, and spend a fair amount of time explaining to folks that we don't stock parts or accessories for those fine firearms. Then again, a quality finish such as yours demands notice! |
The paint in the bore should have made the first few shots rather interesting.
Maybe they shimmed the bore up just enough to actually make a nice fit for the bullet, with decent accuracy as a result. If I ever decide to go back and do any more work with my plating rig, which has gathered much dust in the garage, I'll copper fill and then gold plate the slide for you for free. CJ |
