I’m glad I bought a few mini bottles instead of buying a 750ml.

It tastes like sickly sweet moonshine to me.

ETA - I had a light pour of Blanton’s tonight to celebrate being officially hired.

Jack Daniels Tennessee Tasters Selection barrel proof rye.

127+ proof but it's smooth.

As I said before, I despise Jack Daniels typically.  Tastes like peanuts to me.  The Barrel Proof Rye is simply outstanding and I keep picking up a bottle when I see it.

A couple rocks in the glass, a couple of fingers worth of whiskey, and enjoy.  If you haven't tried it, do so.

Yea, moving to KY is interesting so far. I had much better overall luck in Delaware, especially with allocated bourbons. However, the prices on the stuff that is in stock in KY is really good.

Plus my wife and I have scored some KY/Distillery only releases so far.

You're dealing with out-of-staters now.

TN and Ky both get loads of collectors from adjacent states who buy up stock.  As in meet the distribution trucks at the store and buy cases of XYZ before it hits the shelves.  Some store owners (like my favorite local one) won't cater to them and prefers to make it available to his regular customers.  Others, like my once favorite store just across the KY line, has lost all of his deep pocket regulars because he caters to MO collectors.

How's the IPA version?  I hate IPA's!  Does it taste anything like one?

Didn't to me. It definitely has a touch of citrus. I'll have to investigate further this evening.

Never had an IPA beer . That being so ,this reminds me slightly of a Heineken beer with a high alcohol finish..But then again I don’t have a refined palate like most Bourbon or Whiskey drinkers .Easily  drinkable just can’t peg the taste in a particular category

If it doesn’t have the hop soup taste of an IPA I’ll give it a try. If I bring another bottle of Scotch or Irish in the house I may not get the chance to drink it.

Love the RC6 and would like to give that Ezra Brooks a try. I suspect that it is pretty good.

We happened on to some Blanton's this week for the first time in months. Think I'll go have some.

The Ezra was shockingly good. My wife and I just finished the flight fight. Our only agreed place was last. The 4 roses was water in comparison.

Here is my 1st thru 5th, left to right.
